Half Forward's are the easist players in a team to replace. He has the negative of not being particularly fit, so many 1st 2nd 3rd year players are going to start their careers playing in his position, their fitness is probably as good if not better, or will quickly go past his level of fitness. More kms on the ground is more pressure on the opposition.

    Good decision by Roosy
I think you, and Roos, are undervaluing the ability to put the ball through the big sticks with limited opportunities.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

      You're kidding, right?
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

I this article was some sort of weird signal from the swans to explain the davis omission.

Official AFL Website of the Sydney Swans > News Article > Grundy goes back to move forward

"The work ethic here is player-driven. You're sort of left out if you don't work hard. Most of the senior players set a good example so you get an idea of how hard you have to work very quickly. Otherwise, you look a bit stupid."

        hmmm

Looking at the team list I am really suprised at the number of people, Grundy included, who were worse than Davis last week but have retained their spot for this week. If they had to bring Barlow in (based on training form alone?) he is a utility and arguably could have been brought in anywhere.

By trading Schneider and dropping Davis we have got rid of half of our top 4 leading goalkickers from last year.

Interesting to see where this is heading...

I found this comment from Roos on the selection very interesting (taken from this article posted on the Swans website).
We know it's going to take some time. Maybe there are similarities in playing different positions, I remember with Lewis Roberts-Thomson where there were times when we just kept playing him.
"And a lot of players are like that and I think Ed's going to be a really good player but he just needs to be played.
Whilst I agree you sometimes just have to play guys, is Roos giving the selection committee a bit of a safety net here in advance in case Ed comes in and does little?

Roos has lost it. Dropping one of our best players from last week yet keeping the likes of Bevan and Bolton in the side? Ridiculous.

After reading that article, I'm not sure what to think. He hasn't even mentioned Davis once.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

No that will be Bevan, unless some sense is seen soon and he is dropped.

we must be tanking this year?

dropping davis is stupid, i said jokingly last week whilst watching to my family that davis will get dropped after he went for the goal that would of given us the lead, kind of spooky.

He hasnt set the world on fire but he also has not had a bad game for a while, been better than barry hall.

this is just one sites opinion but heres last week he was the 8th best last week

I didn't know it took a lot of "guts" to run around nowhere near your opponent, chasing stats, while your team mate minds both his and your player. Because being at the game live, that's all I saw Bevan do all night. Run around in defence without his opponent, whilst leaving Mattner and others to mind two men.
