Why would it be a free kick to Goodes? He had the ball.
For hanging on after a contest , like I said, it would have been paid to the almighty Carlton hero and saviour Chris Judd!

Of course it's possible, you would have done it without hitting the block, I'm sure, you're perfect! (That was sarcasm by the way, if you don't know, for which I'm pretty sure you don't)

to me thomas was hanging on and goodes has shrugged him offwith a swinging body action,at no time did he elbow him.
to hammo and nmw what did you guys think of c cornes slamming mattner with a spear tackle and motlop spearing jack's head into the ground,10 times more reportable than goodes.
also cornes lashed out on the ground with an elbow striking kirk to the top of his head.
if it was riewoldt we'd never hear the end of it.
we are blessed to have a champ like goodes play for us so lets start getting behind him,not talking crap like suspend him for 10

I'm disgusted that they won't defend their players mate.

I didn't see the spear tackle laid by Cornes, so can you tell me what happened mate? If that happened, then that's @@@@ing disgusting, that it hasn't been brought up. But I guess we're not sooks like Riewoldt and the Aints.

If you read through the last few pages, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone, you'll see that no one actually suggested he gets 10 weeks. Reaper has caused a lot of hostility and confusion, but hopefully Riewoldt gets off.

Did he really "fling" his elbow back?

What I find interesting about this charge is that it's been assessed as low impact. Given that the Port player lay prostrate on the ground for a few minutes, why have they not deemed it to be moderate contact? Is there an assumption (or evidence) that he hit his head on the ground as he fell.

It's really hard to see from the video footage how much of a fling there really was since it is the arm on the non-camera side of Goodes.

I have a swollen knee mate after dislocating it yesterday, and it doesn't take much for idiots to set me off today mate.

But still, I'll defend Goodes character to the hilt, he is a champion on and off the field and should get more looked after.

As long as he doesn't swing his arm/elbow, and accidentally make contact with some idiots head, allegedly.

Well, I reckon, it was a glancing blow.

Chad Cornes should be investigated against for his spear tackle, aren't those illegal in Aussie Rules? Cornes should be investigated for being such a soft player.

Maybe lack of clear vision is why they've deemed it only light contact.

Given a player was left knocked down on the ground, it's probably not unreasonable that he was given 80 points for it, which would not be a suspension in the normal course of events.

The carry-on about Goodes getting a week is a bit silly - he's getting a week because of his carry-forward points. It's as silly as the carry-on over him not getting a week last year.

Good on Goodesy for fighting it. He still may get off.

                          Just to clarify.

My point is that is getting 80 pts for a low-level strike.

Burgoyne out three for 'throw' - realfooty.com.au

Looksee what I found, Peter Burgoyne was out for 3, for a spear tackle, which you said, nobody hasn't been charged with before.

Poor baby, you must feel silly now getting one wrong.

Could Bloods and RP take this to the chat room. I can't follow the thread at all.
Goodes will hopefully get off as the PA player had lost his footing and was hanging on to Goodes the action of Goodes trying to free his arms meant that contact was made with the head. If the PA player had kept their feet the shrugging action would not have resulted in any contact - probably a 50 mtr penalty should have been paid at the time for delaying.
