The benchmark is not one of the best players in the comp and no one has said Davis is, or should be, near that.

He has performed his role adequately well, as the numbers have shown. Undoubtedly he could do better, but that is not the same as saying he is finished.

How does a forward normally get the footy? Did you expect him to do absolutely everything on his own?

He plays a completely different role. Johnson is the dogs main forward target. Davis is about our 4th when he plays.

          This really is bizarre revisionism!

Nearly everything Connolly writes is as a baiting troll. However, I give him the benefit of the doubt of actually taking his nonsense posts seriously! I assume you missed the other corrections too.

I don't agree. As I said above, Davis is surprisingly strong in one-on-ones. He doesn't look to have a load of muscle but he does the business in the pinch.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Just watched Saints v. Bulldogs. If Davis played for the 'Dogs he'd kick 50+ goals per year given their flexibility of forward targets and good disposal into the forward line.

No, but all of you Davo apologists think this guy walks on water. To listen to some of you, you'd think it was Davo v. Geelong in that 4th qtr. Face it the guy is a selfish footballer with freakish talents. Skill wise he's easily top 5 in the club, but it's his attitude that causes him to be dropped.....as well he should be.

I went to the Gabba last night and thought the boys were hard at it and well organised. I just hope Davo works back into the sort of form to help us add to that sort of performance, he has done it before to great effect. I don't buy the argument that he can't get it back.
