Hall & Roos to front media at 5.00 today

Hahaha...you obviously weren't watching too many games then Mark. I have followed the Swans and the game my whole life and a punch, whilst not on, has never been front page news. The reason you think this is as bad as it gets is because you have been sucked in to all of the media hype...

Please tell the a time when one punch knocked a player out cold. There has never been a single punch thrown like Hall's that has woped a player out. Barry Hall will be known as a thug for the rest of his life.
Again I will ask the question "are you for real". The media have gone overboard but he is lucky to only get 7 weeks. It wasn't a king hit, but it was only one step down from it. How can you try to possibly defend this at all (yes it doesn't need to be shown 12 times a day, but the media does what it does). Barry Hall is a stupid dumb-ar..e that is not playing when we have such a great start to the season. You should support the club & attack him, not say it's a beat-up. I hope to read some sane un-biased views but after some of the posts I've read, I'm not hopefull.

Hang on - ok what if the hit hadnt of happened? And all that happened on the night was that he broke his wrist, would you still say that he sabotaged the Swans chances of making the top 4? because the wrist injury will have him out of the game for pretty much the same amount of time as the suspension. We know it was stupid. Roosey & management know it was stupid. The team know it was stupid. Hell, even the opposition and their fans know it was stupid.

BUT, he broke his wrist. I'm more concerned with that and the toll that will take. The broken wrist will keep him out of the game longer than seven weeks.

Imagine trying to mark with a niggly hammy, bad eyes and a wrist that feels like absolute @@@@ in the cold.

You are the one who was banging on about him sabotaging our top 4 chances as if he had pre planed it - what planet are you on? for god sake, if you dont have any faith in the rest of the playing list, then why are you a supporter?

As for your theory on the workplace and workplace bullying then lets take it a step further, I can always quote the Workers compensation act or the insurance contracts act if you wish. If we are going all fluffy - lets take it to the extreme here - Consider what Staker was doing - which instigated the problem in the first place. He was harrassing Hall in the work place, he was pushing, shoving, holding onto him on the field - which is the work place, we dont know what he was saying to him, but I doubt he would have said "nice night for footy eh?" so again that would be considered verbal harrassment in the workplace . Whilst Hall didnt keep his cool he'd had enough and hit Staker. Consider too that week in week out Hall is harrassed by any player or players that are on him, yet the perception that he can look after himself is why the umpires pay him very few consessions - so no matter what he does he cant win. As I have said previously (if you chose to read) - I dont condone what Hall did, However Staker la la boy isnt totally blameless either. And I do wish the term "king hit" would stop being used - Staker was not King hit! The way the media have beaten this up anyone would think that Hall was on par with Ivan Milat!

So when Hall comes back to footy he will be an even bigger target - and then you will be the first to complain that he is isnt digging in and having a go, making an effort even when he will be marked more heavily than he is now, and the umpires will be turning a blind eye simply because "he is Barry Hall, he can look after himself".

If Barry hadn't have hit Staker & broken his wrist only, we would be complaining to the AFL - I wasn't referring to workplace bullying.
Also I have faith in the other players, but the team is allot better with a fit Barry Hall than not. I would be more confident with Barry Hall fit & playing (especially as he has been).

Also, I agree that it was not a King Hit.

Anyway, it's a new round this week & it's time to move on.

Hope we belt the cats this week (I hope they underestimate the game this week)
