Well with all the hoo har - anyone would have thought that Baz had killed Staker. Yet Staker will probably be playing this weekend, so does the hysteria, after all is said and done, really fit the crime?I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

If anything it allows him to provide a more incisive explanation as top why being able to control your temper on the field is a good thing.
According to that logic, a CEO of a company no longer qualifies to lead that company if he gets wasted at a bar in front of his workmates. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

I'm not sure it is a good idea to send him to Canberra. If we think he'd be a target running around the AFL, imagine a big boofy country butcher getting an opportunity to make himself famous and have a story for the boys at the pub.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

I think it's wrong.
Imagine if in your workplace your bosses asked the employees to find an adequate punishment for a workmate (and friend) who was caught sleeping on the job.
I'd be saying "you're the @@@@ing boss - that's YOUR job.
I certainly wouldn't want to be chastising an equal, as the long term embarrassment etc would be detrimental to the relationship.
I'd really love to hear the Swans come out and say ...
"As a group we stick by one another, on the field, off the field, and when one of us makes mistakes.
Barry Hall made a mistake - he was punished by the correct method, and we now offer our support to Barry and our opinions of him being a decent person have not been changed by this one incident.
We look forward to his speedy return to the team"The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

Absolutely nothing to do with leadership - with his ability to lead his team mates.
If anything it allows him to provide a more incisive explanation as top why being able to control your temper on the field is a good thing.
According to that logic, a CEO of a company no longer qualifies to lead that company if he gets wasted at a bar in front of his workmates.
I don't think it really relates to the example of a CEO being drunk at a bar at all.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

I don't know what the players get out of being able to reprimand their team mate.

exactly - so much for the "one for all and all for one no matter what" blood brothers stuff - then this happens and all of a sudden its " oh jesus Baz has @@@@@@ up - oh well buddy you are on your own" Its all a bit hollow.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

That's not the issue. We know how powerful the leadership group is, having input on team selections, list management, punishment (e.g. Nick Davis). By that very nature, you need leaders who are responsible and have the respect of all their teammates, including the youngesters. Surely Hall's position in the leadership group for the time being is untenable."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

Indeed - Oh well Baz will now know how Nick Davis felt. I still dont agree with it though (and I didnt agree with what they were doing to Nick Davis back in 06 either!).I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

By making his own bed I don't mean by throwing the punch, I mean he has made his own bed by being a part of the leadership group that has held sway within the club and speaking out in a similar way about players in the past. I'm sure if we pull out some of Barry's quotes about Nick in 2006 they would be close to carbon copies of the quotes from the leadership group now.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
