Swans leaders to consider Hall punishment

What should the leadership group do? NOTHING in my opinion. This 'event' happened on the field and has been dealt with by the proper authorities. Bazz has already copped a seven week suspension, will probably be remembered in history as a worse man than Ted Bundy and has copped the wrath of a blood-thirsty media and public hungry for a good story. Isn't this enough?
Seriously, I can see the need in modern day football for the "leadership group" or the club to interfere in matters that happen off-field because they have to "protect their corporate image" and players are "role models". But this happened on the field...and has been dealt with. So unless Bazz, after the punch, went and pi$$ed on the Staker's front doorstep in Perth, the matter is over...Go you mighty BLOODBOYS!Comment

What I would have liked to see is ONE member of the leadership group present the opinion of the Group/Team ONCE. I have not enjoyed the continual procession of Leo/Tadhg/B2 having their word on lost respect, letting team down, potential punishments etc
It gets to the stage where it is as if Barry is recommitting the crime every day this week.
I am waiting now for Goodesy, Kirky, Ablett, Rhino to have their say...if they havent already !!!Red and white till I dieComment

Well reading the comments on here certainly made me laugh this morning. By the way I agree with all that you said Wardy!! As the guy on the Today Show said this morning "you have to feel sorry for Barry, he didn't shoot anyone". I wonder how much of this leadership crap and physchologist stuff is to appease the wider community and the media. I did notice on Sat night though that Jolly was the one noticeable Swan who went up to Barry and spoke to him.Comment

I don't know what the players get out of being able to reprimand their team mate. I think it's wrong.[snip]
I'd be saying "you're the @@@@ing boss - that's YOUR job.
I certainly wouldn't want to be chastising an equal, as the long term embarrassment etc would be detrimental to the relationship.
I'd really love to hear the Swans come out and say ...
"As a group we stick by one another, on the field, off the field, and when one of us makes mistakes.
Barry Hall made a mistake - he was punished by the correct method, and we now offer our support to Barry and our opinions of him being a decent person have not been changed by this one incident.
We look forward to his speedy return to the team"
Baz has been punished once already (twice if you apply Scott's cartoon) so why should the "leadership group" punish him further. I know there is a lot of crap spoken about "karma" on here, but I can't wait to see Kirk stuff up and see how they handle it then.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

I think when the same sound bit is run again and again and again on telly it may seem that the only thing on the Swans minds is Barry Hall.
Do any of us really think that is the case?
I've got no doubt that the second the game finished on Saturday night the coaches and team started preparing for life without Barry.Comment

Hall is gone from the LG.
They should give him another week - to come back in the reserves.
Some community work as well... maybe driving umpires to and from games."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment

The leadership group will be "seen" to do "something" about Blind Barry, although deep down, we all know nothing will happen they're not going to do anything too bad to him. It's all hyped-up talk.
This isn't Nick Davis - this is Big Bad Bustling Barry Hall.
Huge difference.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment
