Jut watching the replay now...last quarter. McClaren gave a rubbish free kick to Nth out forward pocket then 50m, then another rubbish free kick after a great tackle from Jack. Ended up resulting in a Nth goal.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Very good effort from our defence again, as usual. Particularly good games from Bevan, Richards, C Bolton and Mattner.

Garbage games from J Bolton and Buchanan.
Goodes showed some really good signs. Messed up a lot of disposal, but ran well and created a lot of opportunities, kicked some nice goals and took some nice marks.

Everyone else generally average. Our forward line entries continue to be hopeless. Our rebound from defence is completely haphazard. We need to open up the game much sooner than the last five minutes of the game.
I think they have both been very average this year.

McLaren was shocking during that period - MMM commentators really paid out on him.

(Re: Buchanan) - I thought Buchanan was great especially in the last quarter .... especially compared to his first few games

pathetic waste of a sunday arvo i could of sat and watched paint dry.

the last 5 minutes showed how we can play where was that all day?

goodes found a bit of touch
magic looked dangerous which was good
i actually thought davis was ok, if he had of kicked straight would of got going, dont drop him roosy you have ruined his confidence

bird and jack were excellent too white good for debut.

I think bird jack mcveigh barlow moore etc show just how poor jude boltons skills have become i have no confidence when he has the ball. His shots at goal were pathetic.

Buchanan makes so many dud decisions.

jolly was winning ruck taps to god knows who, was it him not looking or the mids not reading the play??

Okeefe was no where to be found when we need him the most (with hall out)

leo played a good game though and richards

im surprised ablett escapes critiscism this year, has not done much at all.

generally not a good effort.frees were 14 us 17 them, reckon we missed out on about 20 not paid.almost died of shock when mclaren gave us a free in the last qtr, must have been too obvious to ignore.
according to stats we KICKED 8-10 6 were rushed, but we had plenty of chances.

still excited by our young brigade, jack, moore, barlow, bird.jessie was ok.

              bevans best ever game.

              lazy davis must go

I don't normally like to bag the umpires as without them we wouldn't have a game but some of the decisions (both for and against us) perplexed me. They were very harsh on the 50s for holding after the mark was taken, strict letter of the law I know but they weren't paid in all the other games I watched this weekend.

MOL was rubbish in the first half, destroyed by Firrito, but became more involved in the second half - presented well and took advantage of a couple of goal opportunities.
Davis was good in the first half, presented well and chased well, but didn't have his kicking boots on (but some here have said goals aren't so important, so not particularly relevant?). Went missing in the second half. I watched him a lot - it wasn't that he was lazy - he continued to run for the ball, but was unable to get his hands on it. Really seems to struggle with the Swans game plan.

Buchanan makes so many dud decisions.
His decision making and disposal were terrible.

Same with Barlow - was ordinary today, but he still shows good signs.

Okeefe was no where to be found when we need him the most (with hall out)
                  Heavily tagged out of it.

Barry was thrashed by Thompson in the first half I felt.

Continues to grab the ball and force a ball up. Disposal still ordinary. Did a reasonable job on Simpson.

Robbed Should be overturned a.k.a the St. Kilda V Fremantle game.

Yes we wasted chances, but IMO we still deserved the win and got screwed.

                      .

yeah i agree with that. Just meant magic looked a reasonably viable forward option in comparison to anyone else. But is not in the game enough.

We didnt have a consistent forward target they all had the odd patch but no one taking a consistent mark.

I though davis could of been chucked into the midfield to get his hands on it worth a punt nothing else was happening.

todays game is the sort that leads to people saying we are a boring side. I dont care what opposition fans and so on say, but that was that pathetic awful game we play on a semi regular basis.

I think the lack of flexibility in our game plan is an issue.

how was davis lazy, kept presenting and running hard, you could argue he played poorly but how was he lazy?

Davis showed that he can be a reasonable forward target with half decent delivery into the forward line. Took 3 nice marks, just disappointing his kicking was off (if he'd kicked 3 no one would be fussed about him, but I expect the usual complaints).

He played a lot out of the goal square, so it's not surprising he didn't get a lot of the ball. He still needs to do more, but there's no doubt he still has something to offer to the side. Confidence looks shot - hardly surprising - reminds me of McVeigh last year. Really wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't recover it though and doesn't play too many more games for Swans.

last quarter, Goodes fair dinkum pushed in the back in front of the umpire - nothing. Then , Leo Barry gets held without the ball - nothing.

                                We were raped.
