Jim Main Knocks RWO?

In Jims world we should all just sit in our seats , sip our chardonnay and cappucinos (we are Sydney fans after all!!) and politely clap the players no matter what happens.

After the game , we shouldnt provide an opinion but instead read the paper the next day and expert journalists such as Jim ( I say that very loosely) tell us how each team played and how the players are going.

Jolly good chaps , please pass me another cucumber sandwich.

It Seems that all Jim wants if for positive feed back no matter how woeful the team has performed in a match - I dont care how good a writer he is he's in fairy land if thats what he wants. I feel that as most of us here are financial members (which is by no means cheap) that we have every right to express an opinion whether its positive or negative with regard to the teams performance. Naturally opinions are going to differ, but to sit there and say nothing when say LRT makes another stupid error or Matthews just moves about flapping his arms and being a major contributor to yet another turnover all because they were part of the premiership side is just ludicrous and is just encouraging mediocrity. (and apologies for that really long sentance!) The truth hurts sometimes - thats a part of life, and we all deal with it.

who is being elitist? no one has mentioned being elitist. If a fan is annoyed by a players performance they have the right to have a negative opinion and express same, just as much right as another fan has to expressing a positive opinion. It seems that Mr Main only wants positive opinions expressed and thats it. where is the balance?

There is nothing wrong in being critical but when stupidity becomes the norm when some members on this site feel they have all the authority and knowledge to rubbish players and coach roos without having one iota of what happens behind close doors, then it yes Jim Main is pot on. From my readings there is an agenda with some posters, what their objective is i cannot say, but it is borderline stupidity and i am amazed at how the owners of this site allow this certain posters to do or say what they say.

I think what Jim Main wrote was spot on about this website. I have been reading this site for a long time now and i have read some intelligent banter and conversations. There are a limited few who love their swans and no doubt love their football. But there is also this air o superiority amongst some of the more regular posters. I guess this thread backs up Jim Mains article and rant and i guess the truth has put a few noses out of joint, judging from such replies.

And in regards to comparing an online forum to banter at a pub or the footy couldn't be further from the truth. Drunken banter is forgotten at a ground or bar the next day, unfortunately the rubbish and over the top criticism of players, staff and the club is indexed for a long time online by search engines google and by hitting the search button on this site. So it's hardly an accurate comparison.

Saying that it's ironic reading some posters being critical of Jim Main and even insulting him just because they cannot handle the criticism. Much of a muchness really.

What do you define as a 'positive supporter'? Do you mean glowing, unthinking praise will only be tolerted by herr site administrator? Can you please have another go at that last sentence. Sort of not understanding it in its current form.

This last sentence utterly contradicts your earlier rant advising that negativity is rampant and not to be tolerated (that's my interpretation of what you are saying - correct me if I am wrong).
