Davis asks for second chance

In Davis case, Roos (and perhaps the leadership group - their tentacles seem to extend everywhere) has set benchmarks and Davis hasn't been able to meet them. Everything I've read and heard would indicate Davis is taking the advice on board and trying to reach the benchmark.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

writing a few comments in support of davis like myself and others have doesnt mean we are in love with him or gonna cry if he leaves.
the only thing i have been pointing out is the inconsistent way davis has been handled as opposed to other players. Even with these articles, of which some include quotes from the club. We dont hear comments about crouch or mathews etc and they are in similar positionsTheres not much left to sayComment

Look up some old threads on here and you'll see how disappointing most people think Matthews is.
People have to face it ... Davo's "had it" as well.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I?m no Davis lover, but it saddens me that nobody from Roos down has been able to find the correct buttons to push that will get Davis motivated. In any industry, the sacking of an employee is also a reflection on the failure of management to get the employee to perform. It hurts that a bloke who would be in our top five talent wise looks like being fired for non performance.
Roos is a bloody good coach, but I reckon he would be the first to admit that he has failed with Nick Davis.
The Swans have a reputation of being one of the best clubs at getting optimum performance from their players ? are any other clubs going to have the confidence that they can succeed where the Swans have failed? Maybe one will, but Davis? trade value has diminished to the extent that all the Swans could expect in return is an empty KFC box. Retirement or second tier footy looks more likely. Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

He's also been outstanding in the renewal phase of the club. Cut Schnieder, Dempster and Davis (Davo has been effectively cut since the Geelong game) - recruited Mattner, developed Jack, Moore and Bevan. Despite all the experts opinions of our lack of young depth, we have one of the most promising group of youngsters in the comp. Roosey has cut the "soft" players from the squad and we are the better for it.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

if we didnt want davis should of traded him last year
especially if hes on year to year deals, comming off a pretty good year (in top 5 for goals etc) now his stocks have plummeted. Poorly managed by the club.
Again though its just another article
he might get selected soon enough, and a few lesser players who lack basic skills will get shown the doorTheres not much left to sayComment

Nick Davis & Lance Thompson. Says it all there.
Mick Malthouse & Paul Roos and both organizations are pretty highly respected in their fields and both have failed to get the best out of Nick.
So, who do you really think the problem is ??
Footy has become even more accountable this year especially in the forward half and requires hard work and accountability. Davo has none of either.
Some on here have to pull their heads out of the sand.
Glad to see him on his way, more to spend on ROK and keep him at the club.Est 1874

Malthouse was keen to keep Davis and he was playing well with Collingwood.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
