Collingwood has never had a player do this to them in living memory. To put Bolton (told he had no future at the Lions), Hall (uncontrollable in a dysfunction club and now admits it), Mattner (went through soul searching before he left the Crows) is a bit rough.
if anything it was more reflective of collingwoods disbelief a player would want to leave their club then a problem with davis. What is wrong with a young man wanting to move hime, and surely it showed his passion for our club how keen he was to leave.

Anyway the rubbish your bring up about collingwood is not relevant, its in the past, we have had davis on the list for close to 100 games now and several years 6-7 off the top of my head. How he left his old club doesnt matter.

All we have read this week in papers is speculation about him, which is understanable considering there would be interest in where he goes, he is a good player.

The main thing we have heard is davis is keen to get back and roosy and magic are keen to see him back and performing the role they require, which is fair enough.

Pretty simple stuff, theres no need to go on like you have any great insights to the locker room and that davis is already scratched out of the team.

This is where i have a problem with this kind of apology for the player before the club attitude. So a 17 year old doesn't want play for a grand old club of Nash, Skilton and Lockett? Thats his choice but he fails as a clubman and team player.

not all 17 year olds would care about nash skilton or lockett. Some 17 year olds just want to be happy and with their families

Just the attitude that will take a kid to the top in elite sport.

he showed a fair bit of promise i thought. Young kpp players take a while to develop. I remember a 4 goal first half v essendon for a start.

It was sad to lose him at the time.

You old enough to remember rocca at sydney? im surprised

tony lockett used to drive home to ballarat or wherever all the time, didnt want to go back to the big bad vfl he did alright.

a man called gary ablett left the hawks after 6 games cos hated it went and played in the bush, he could play a little too.

Guess they were poor clubman though both changed teams didnt they.

As youngsters they couldnt handle the move from home either.

Wayne Carey wanted to leave north as a youngster too, look how that ended up, in court

You're seriously underestimating how big a step it is for a 17 year old to move to a new city. Some people can cope with it, some can't.

Whatever the attitude of the 17 year old, we expect that they will mature, develop an understanding of the ethos of the club and become committed to the club. If they don't they shouldn't be tolerated as a perenniel adolescent. At some point everyone has to grow up and maybe thats the issue.
