I think the only reason Sydney appeared to improve in the last quarter was because most of the Collingwood players were tiring.

i re watched that this morning and a few things i noticed

1- bevan was not as bad as i had thought, just think people like him playfair lrt (players with ordinary skills) are extra frustrating when the whole team is terrible. i wouldn't drop him, but he should of been given a run on the ball

2- our inside 50s seemed to be dominated by kirky, jude and jolly and all due respect to kirk and jude they aren't exactly going to hit the forwards lace out on a regular basis.

3- we started kicking to hall way too much again and reverted back to old habits.

4- there was a lack of support for the ball carrier

5- there was no real change by the coaching staff, moving leo to stand in the forward line for a few minutes wont change the game, needed a move in the middle to win the ball.

we should of lost by a lot more and its 2 weeks of rubbish form, because we were not much chop against Melbourne.

I would like to see goodes in obviously, barlow and davis if all fit as i believe we lack the skill and precision these three can add to the team. I would drop playfair, moore (purely because i think he is in need of a rest) and maybe bird or the third player.

I would be getting jack to review that tape, he made some odd decisions one that stood out was sort of just jumping into the pack with no real purpose on the camera side wing, ruined his own team mate more than anything. But i would not drop him yet

also something that annoys me most weeks especially in defence if the ball is in high we dont need 3-4 players to fly for it, perhaps one could stay down and crumb.

i can accept a loss, they will happen, but why is there a reluctance to roll the dice a bit more and go long try and get the forwards one out? make collingwood accountable

the little comeback was more to do with a release in pressure, as collingwood woke up to snuff it out anyway.
Theres not much left to say

Now how does that merit dropping a young defender when we were largely smashed in the midfield.?
Can we call it maybe a "2/8th's back" so we don't get the role confused with the actual "quarterback" of the other game?

Or with any other use of the term in regards to players in the AFL
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

              I feel for ya mate.

The reaction after the game was of despair (even though it was worse at 3/4 time). But there was some relief there as well. Thank heavens I didn't pay over $300 to come up to watch that rubbish. Would have been mortified had I done so.

Next week is another match. And the boys will be looking to atone themselves. Expect a 100% better effort than tonight. I don't think Hawthorn will be as successful in shutting us down as the Pies have habitually become.

Couldn't be bothered logging in after I got home from watching that rubbish, so I will sum up the game with a Commetti-ism:

"That's not footy for the time capsule"

                  End report.

I just struggled to find any positives at all. Kirk has been outstanding this year, but even he seemed a bit down last night (too much to do perhaps without Goodes?)

The number of Swans players just standing around/jogging waiting/hoping to receive the ball, compared with the hard running of the Magpies, whether to block up our space or on long leads as mentioned earlier, was staggering. Were they still on holidays??

Hope this is just one of those shockers that we seem to dish up once in a while - 6.13 or 14 so against the Saints in Rd 1, 8.16 vs the Roos in Rd 6, and 6.14 again in Rd 14!!!

                      What a shocker!

The desperation on the faces of Collingwood players compared to ours (excepting Kirk) and their ability to outrun us and find space, told the tale.

Kudos to the Pies, they have our measure and last night it was embarrassing to watch our side capitulate. Their young players stood up when counted (Dale Thomas always seems to lift a notch against us.)

As has been mentioned, Kirk, Jolly, Richards and to some extent the Boltons, were the only players who deserved their pay. I don't get Barry Hall - he seems such a dufus.

I was chatting to a Collingwood supporter today (not my son) and he said their fans generally don't rate Hall but were happy Goodes was out. Of course the term "thug" was used for Barry and rightly so.

That is not an AFL stadium, there is no home ground advantage and parts of the playing field are obscured from so many seats.

One of the worst games I've seen us play in recent history - surely it can only be up from here.

It was the most embarrassing Swans performance since Round 10 2005, when Sydney lost away to St Kilda. That was the game where Robert Walls made some infamous personal comments about Paul Roos' coaching motivation, and came a few weeks after the AFL CEO's negative comments about the Swans.

That said......we all know what happened 3 months later on 17th September,2005.

I know we were missing Goodes in person but from watching the game on the idiot box it seems as if a fair few players left their brains in park.

We were simply @@@@ last night and one factor which put us out of the game was our very poor kicking and our costly turn overs and clangers.

In the last 15 minutes of the game we could have over ran them and i thought we were going too.I want to know why we couldnt play like that for at least half the game.

How can so many players have a @@@@ game on one bloody night.

On saying that IMO we can turn it around next week againts the hawks.
