maybe its time to move on, but something still burns to me about jolly's performance. I have no doubt that Hall and Bolton were absoloutely gutted with their performances in 06, obviously the missed goals hurt a lot but i still believe they were trying there absolute best. But something wasnt right at all with jolly's performance ... wasnt interested, we've all heard stories about him after the game and at half time. I just think he owes us, im not saying he has to win us a grand final to make up for it but he needs to show that the result hurts and that he is desperate for an opportunity to make amends.

      a) Isn't his improvement last season and further improvement this year an indication that he knows he can produce more?

      b) Did you miss the comment from Jewels about his hand injury? This seems to have been conveniently forgotten in all the wash-up over his performance. His finger was so badly dislocated in the lead-up to the QF at Subi that the bone was poking through the skin. In some ways it's amazing that he managed to play the next three games at all.

Suffice to say Jolly must be the most improved (senior) player in the group.

Agreed Donners, I reckon Jols will get the bench spot in AA. Cox is a rarity, and based on his ability should get AA for about 6 years to come, but Natnoui could be the Michael Jordan of Ruckman...who knows we'll see.

Hille has had a few awesome games, but Jolly has been consistently one of our betters this year. Is it just me or does he seem to be far more mobile this year?

I actually believe he is just running to the right spots on the ground now. Everitt has had a pretty good impact on Jolly I think.

Cox is a champ, but I wonder if he stands out like a rose among a dung heap and we all have to notice that.

He has stood out for the past 3-4 years when Judd, Cousins, Kerr and support cast were at their best.

I think that Jolls has become a fine footballer, not just a very good ruckman.

I think that more and more that's how ruckmen are judged. Few dominate nowadays in terms of hit outs to advantage, even if they consistently get their hands on the ball. It is nice to sometimes see those perfect taps to a team mate, especially around goal. Lade's been good throughout his career at this, Ball became very good, and Everitt still gives us the odd reminder of why he was once one of the very very best.

But ultimately, someone like Cox is a great ruckman because he's a great midfielder.
