That was funny! Even if he didn't get the 2nd 50 it was worth a try to pinch a few extra metres while talking to the umpire

Have to laugh. LRT was a fair dinkum unco out there tonight. Need to get rid of him!

We could trade him to Melbourne at the end of the year if we're lucky.

We played @@@@ and were very lucky. What game were you watching?

I would think Harvey's plan was for Pavlich to use his mobility to run lrt around upfield surely! Anyway LRT stuck to his guns and fought hard all day, he was preety good in the loose. It was good to see Pav and Tazz getting kicks well away from 50, however our slack marking and general play inside defensive 50 for the last 6 weeks is frightenening for next week considering Geelong's efficiency!

When I coined the phrase Bevanesque, and I did, it was meant as an entirely different meaning to what it is now. Full marks to the boy for turning it around. I can't remember the last time he was caught HTB. Is it any coincidence that Benny is in the 2's?

I wonder whether "that" mark in the dying seconds will be put on the same pedestal as Riewolt's last week. I think not.

Nico his mark was as good as Riewoldts at the SCG a couple of seasons back when he flew into an oncoming pack. And that is a rare talent.

On Jude Bolton, I think the reason he is playing so well is that he has stopped going to ground at every contest (keeping his feet) and it seems has been given a bit of an outside role whereby he appears to be getting more handball receives. He is now winning centre clearances because he is concentrating on the ball not the man. To go with this change there seems to have been almost a metamorphous with his kicking.

We had only 7 less hitouts but it appeared Freo sharked a lot of our centre bounce ones, which is really frustrating. They always seemed to have a player just off the pack for that second possession at centre bounces which gave them a clear passage. Particularly so at the start of the last Q.

I know Leo hasn't been out for 6, but I reckon we miss the little things a leader does well when he's out.

Also, I think that Tiger is playing injured and has lost a lot of speed to the contests. Then there is no Mal. LRT is still learning and he doesn't have that many teaching given we're just keeping our nose above water at the moment.

Confession time..........I just couldn't watch/listen(thanks Northern swan)to the game after half time. My nerves/heart just weren't up to another rollercoaster, frustrating, joyous ride. How good must it be to be a Cats supporter or a Demons supporter. At least you know where you stand. After all these years I am worn out.

Great to hear about Bevan's mark.
Great to hear about Goodes goals.

But I have had it. I'm exhausted.

Incredible finish. I was absolutely exhausted and voiceless by the time the siren sounded. I couldn't have stood it any longer. The feeling at the end for me was reminiscent of the '05 semi v Geelong, a combination and exultation and disbelief.

With 10 mins to go I thought we were dead and buried. We weren't playing well at all and I didn't see a way back. Then the "cardiac kids" rise again and win at the death. I copped all sorts from one fellow CS'er after the game for my lack of faith.

Having said that I think it will take 110% more effort than that if we are to have a hope against Cats next week.

One final note about last nights game

                            General thought

i liked the Goodes/Hall combo up forward. I thought hall drew the defense away and allowed goodes some opportunities which he was able to exploit well.

Jude Bolton was awesome last night, in fact the midfield in general was probably the best area for us, they all put in well. I thought that mcveigh showed a lot of class, he was not on fire like last week, got about 15 touches, but he is developing into an elite midfielder who makes his possessions count.

Birdy does a lot of stuff that will not show up on the stat sheet, little taps out of packs etc, he is coming along nicely.

Vezpremi is impressive, he looks a bit like Nick Davis though, could be his younger brother or cousin.

There were a lot of other positives, but we beat 12th by 4, was an exciting game, but we were poor in some areas.

The defence looked very ordinary, Grundy is still out of position and LRT is not good enough to play on pavlich.

I thought Richards was down on previous matches as well.

I also forgot Okeefe was playing til about the 3rd quarter

I think we played with a better attitude last night and we were far more attacking, we need to keep that frame of mind against the cats to have any hope.

It's good to win but there is a lot of excitement for beating the 13th-placed team at home by a kick in a game we really shouldn't have won. The last two months still show we're miles away this year.

LRT is improving incrementally every week IMHO, in kicking, descision making, playing quicker and marking. look he's never going to develop the natural ability and athleticism of a Scarlett, but the Swans rely on him to do one of the toughest jobs every week. So he's never going to look like a star player.
