We all knew 2 had to go for ROK and Goodes and we all new it would be some of the new boys, and Vespa is the newest boy.
    Get over it I say.

An ORB is right, lets wait and see who runs out on Sat Night, before we jump up and down.

The Vesz for Noggy is the only change I'd make. Maybe Roos and the others think Paddy's motor isn't quite up to it yet, but I can't see Ablett giving us more than him. Maybe they think Noggy is needed for the midfield rotation, but there are enough others to carry that. I'm very disappointed.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

So you reckon seniority is the appropriate basis for selection?

I'm saying we knew what was going to happen, and the reactions here are remarkable. The team selections have become pretty predictable.
I'm as disappointed as much as the next person, I would have loved for Vespa to be in the team. Read any of my posts about him in recent weeks, he is an excitement machine. He may still play, he did last week.

I'm going to wait for the run on team before I get to anxious.

IMO Both Heath and Vespa gave us something last week. Would like to have seen more of that game plan Guess we have to wait till next year

Watching FLT some interesting stats on points F/A at clearances between us and Roos.
Are we stacking to exploit that? Ablett can be offensive in clearances. Who is going to crumb?
I wish they'd drop Spida for Vez actually, considering McIntosh is out, just on form but won't happen if we are going to play stoppage riddled footy.

Just watched AFL teams on Fox......we hardly got a mention at all. They discussed both teams in detail for the Hawks/Dogs and Crows/Pies games, then when they get to our game, the discussion lasts about half as long and they don't mention one single swans player outside the 30 seconds talking about the team selection. They talked about Hale, Thompson, what the roos would do with their forward line, Laidley's tunnel phobia, but diddly squat about any swan or any tactics of ours. Is there 2 teams playing? From that discussion, you wouldn't think so.
Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.

Here's hoping for a late change:

                    In: Veszpremi
                    Out: Ablett
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

                      There's hope for Paddy yet.

Sydney coach Paul Roos said midfielder Craig Bird might be a late omission for Saturday night's elimination final against North Melbourne at ANZ Stadium.

Have to vent our frustration somewhere Scott.
I don't think the reactions are remarkable, given how well Veszpremi played last week. Everone's annoyed - not surprised.

I will not believe Scooter and Reg have been dropped until I see the team run out Saturday. Usual Roos smoke and mirrors stuff.
Was thinking the same. I don't reckon the line up is over until the fat lady sings. I just find it difficult to see how a 4 goal last game doesn't warrant a game next week. We have seen players not get a tough for 2 years and they still got a game. Strange, very strange indeed.

Suffice to say Ablett has genuinely been touched on the d*** by the good fairy or Matthews has passed the photos to him.

A guy playing only his 4th game...lovely game last week but finals are at about twice the pace..no time to get rid of the ball and he did get a couple of gifts last week..I'll stick with Ablett!..Oh, and hope I'm right.

                                You've just got to laugh.

Interesting to read some of the populist opinions of most supporters who have no idea of a real fooball club culture... who just want the exciting new boy to play no matter what.

4 goals was a good effort, and he adds a lot of enthusiasm, but there is more to winning finals than playing a crowd pleaser. Teenagers are very prone to inconsistency, and finals are a different story to playing a team out of the race. How many possessions did Vespa get in the first half when the game was up for grabs?

I'll leave the call to the premiership coach.

Good to see Grundy out as I predicted, and if Bevan stays out of the backline, I'll be feeling very good about beating the Roos.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.
