Kerr could easily win a Brownlow, ROK will never make the Top 5 (would love to be proven wrong on this).
Kerr is faster. He is a better kick. He gets more of the ball. He is more consistent. He is a genuine superstar.
Oh and the umpires love himComment

There is no way in this world that ROK is worth more then Kerr. Kerr is a guaranteed multi All Australian in a midfield position whilst ROK will always be around the edge for a HFF position in the AA team.

I suspect that most clubs would be prepared to part with slightly more for Kerr than for O'Keefe - mostly due to that couple of years difference in age.
But some of your observations are plain wrong. Kerr is not a guaranteed multi-AA. I'm pretty sure he's only made the team once, which is the same as ROK.
Kerr is quicker. Not convinced he's a better kick. He gets more of the ball because of the position he plays in and WC's generally higher possession style. More consistent? I doubt it. For a start ROK (almost) never misses a game. It took meningitis to keep him out of the team for the first time in over 6 years. He doesn't get himself into petty trouble with the tribunal, nor is he injury prone. Even comparing on ground performances, Kerr is far from consistent. His good games are very very good but he's frequently kept quiet by a tagger or just apparent sluggishness. He only played two or three games this year that might be described as very good. Compare that to ROK who played at least half a dozen. Sure, he was carrying a foot injury but that's part of the point if you're judging on actual output.
I am yet to be convinced that Kerr is a genuine top-line midfielder in his own right, rather than someone who is very good but made to look elite because he lined up alongside Judd and Cousins for so many games. This year did nothing to really answer that question as it is hard to know for how long the leg injury was troubling him. But I suspect WC might have a suspicion that he's not as good as he looked pre-2008 - which is why they're probably more than happy to offload him now.Comment

I'm not making my comparison on 1 year, particularly when Kerr was injured for most of it.
My point was that Kerr is more consistent as a player. As a person I think he is a bit of a tool and agree his tribunal record etc has been bad. So was Plugger's, so was Hall's.
You seem to be personally biased by not admitting he is a top line midfielder. That is plain wrong.
You failed to mention the Brownlow comparison.
Also there is nothing to suggest West Coast don't want to keep him. They have a policy of no deals over 3 years and everyone needs to follow that.Comment

Would love to have him at the Swans but wouldn't trade O'Keefe. I doubt we have the currency (that we would be willing to part with) to satisfy West Coast's wants. I'm also against topping up as i dont think its sustainable in the long termComment

This is from the Age today. I know nothing about him but was a 1st rounder, is young and rated by his club. Thoughts?
PORT ADELAIDE midfielder Adam Thomson has told the Power he wants to be traded, most likely to Victoria, and several clubs are interested in the uncontracted former first-round draft pick.
After managing only seven games in Port?s horrid year, Thomson, taken with pick 11 in the 2004 national draft, has said he wants out.
??We are pretty disappointed because we have put a fair bit of work into him since taking him as a firstround draft pick,?? Port football manager Peter Rohde said.
??We have rated him but he just hasn?t been able to get much of a go because, even though we did not win a lot of games this year, our midfield has actually been quite strong, with (Steven) Salopek and (Travis) Boak having really good years and then the Burgoynes (Peter and Shaun). He has not been delisted. He has asked to be traded and I would imagine he will get a contract again with us if a trade does not work out.
??We would be reluctant to lose him but he is out of contract and wants a trade, so we are not in a strong position to do much about it.??
Rohde said discussions would be held with several clubs later in the week.Comment

Keep Schmidt. Has shown enough to warrant remaining on the list.
Mind you, if he was involved in a deal to get either Lovett or Kerr here, I'd trade him quicker than Annie downs a scotch....Comment

Could do a straight swap, with any of our fringe S.A boys, if its worth it?Comment

Thomson is also an inside midfielder. If we are going to trade Schmidt I would prefer if it was for an outside midfielder or a fringe key position player.Comment

Only my HObut I respect what you are saying he is a great player but we could build an awesome midfield around Kerr.
Cheers
