If it's all over one year of contract length, just give it to him Ireland. Just give him whatever he wants. He's earned it. He's one of those players who can help bridge the gap when the oldies retire next year and the year after and while the young'uns are still finding their way.

My all-time second favourite Swan and NOTHING will be adequate compensation in my eyes.

Damn...that super forward line of Hall, Magic, Nick Davis, Pebbles is looking a bit shakey
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Another great post, I can't help but agree with every word.

I'm with you Liz, he is such an important player to us and none of the players being touted as replacements will go anywhere near matching his class for mine. A sad day if true.
Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.

He's def one of my favs, too, but comes further down the list, behind Kelly, Plugger, Cressa, Healy, Diesel, MickeyO, and the chimp. If he goes I wish him well, but I will be very disappointed...

i dont think i have seen a player improve more over the course of their career. i reckon there are some reasons for supporting a football club. some of these are the players over their careers. giving okeefe away i reckon says bad things about the club, loyalty etc.

Mine too. I started seriously following the Swans in 2002, and O'Keefe has been my favourite player for every minute since. I just couldn't bear to see him in different colours.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

                    This sounds better

But the Swans refuted Ten's report, and a club spokeswoman said O'Keefe and club officials were still in discussions with the aim of him signing a new contract.

Just got a filthy phone call from my mate who's been my matchday companion since '82. He reckons we are poison.

My daughter idolised Schneider, had #13 on her jumper and multiple posters on the bedroom wall.

Of course, the missus had a mad crush and had her picture taken this year with, you guessed it, ROK.

We've just had dinner and decided on our favourite players for 2009.

The daughter is going to develop a crush for Ablett, the missus a fancy for Playfair and I'm tossing up between LRT and ?????

                      Any suggestions?

Peter Street would be a good bet

I'm not overly fussed. I don't think he's had anywhere near the season people rave about. He's been not quite a forward, not quite a midfielder. He had plenty of games where he didn't get much of the ball or if he did he butchered it. I reckon he had about half a dozen good or better games and a few shockers.

Trading O'Keefe wouldn't be a bad thing IMO. It's important that we make this draft a good one so another first round pick would be lovely.

LOL....there are just too many CPs in our squad to choose from...but Playfair, Grundy and Brennan would be good starting points...

The fact Peter Street doesn't play for us confirms it.
