As I've said before, I think ROK is shafting the club by the way he's going about this. I previously thought we should offer him the captaincy as a carrot for him to stay but by not being 100% loyal he's proven he's not captaincy or even leadership group material. If he stays, he'll have a lot of work to do to regain the trust of Kirk and co.
Like I said to Swantastic earlier this morning - it reeks of his manager (ala Davo).

He'd want to be careful if he's not serious about wanting to move. Could end up a very highly paid ressie.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Should he decline Sydney's offer, O'Keefe, who has recently employed a manager, Tom Petroro, will seek a trade or choose to enter the national or pre-season draft.

AFL rules allow him to place the $600,000 figure on his head in the national draft.

Not surprising he'd do that. Means that he thinks if he does goes into the PSD then he'll definitely go to one of the big clubs. I guess most clubs would baulk at that money though.

Most people here think he'll do the right thing by the club by arranging a good trade. Clearly not the case.

It reeks of,if not greed, then a desire to maximise his income. It also reeks of management telling him what is good for him (with their own vested interest) rather than the club (with its own vested interest) - except the club has no obligation to act in on his behalf and in his best interests. An agent does.

I am not sure why anyone is surprised. His contract is up. He has one more decent sized contract left in his career. He is established in he top echelons of those who play the game. This is his last grab for the big bucks. He is probably my favourite player but that does not make me think he is not motivated by the money more than loyalty, especially at this stage in his career. And why not? 3 weeks of tough negotiating now could be worth $500K over 4 seasons. That's a lot to put into your super.

Exactly right. Although for us as supporters, it is a game and one in which we demand loyalty. For the player it it their employment and living. Naturally you would seek as much money as you could get from your employer.

That's just an assumption by the journalist, it was not a direct quote from ROK or his manager.

He'll go to Melbourne in the PSD.
