    I'm SO over the swans!

Bummer of a trade period...nothing special or spectacular, well not on the positive side at least.. I'm just going to replay the Brizzie-Pie GF to refresh my memory of the Alastair Lynch, Grease Shaw encounter in the forward pocket, just so I can prepare myself with a taste of what we can expect next season.
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

      Shaw.

      Why? Serious question.

If you were framing a market, the odd's on favourite would be that O'Keefe resings a new contract with us. Overall it's seems he was happy to stay if the deal didn't get done.

Just too many variables to go into the PSD, he doesn't want to go to Melbourne, probably won't last to Carlton and has absolutely no chance of getting to Hawthorn.

Thank god we didn't do anything stupid with our pick 12 ... yet.

Now all we're bracing for is that we don't draft another sub-180cm midfielder with it.

Insurance in case one of Currie or Orreal cannot step up next year.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Hiya D&M....your guess is as good as mine... I am currently thinking that the Swans' recruiting staff were kidnapped en masse by aliens last night, beamed aboard their spaceship and transported to another universe, only to be replaced with a group of shicked morons the aliens dragged out of the nearest pub...

we needed to up the quota of bald headed players at the swans.

Again DST, you're making too many assumptions. Who knows how much Carlton have in their cap space. And besides Nick Stevens, who was the last player to be picked up in the PSD against his will? In his case, he still got to go to Melbourne, whereas I think a club like Port or West Coast will have to think carefully before shelling out big bucks for a reluctant player.

                    Either Carlton or Essendon Hammo.
Bombers have got plenty of room in their Salary cap.
One things for sure , no matter what some on here think he wont be at the Swans next year, and we simply have lost out. We move on though.

Carlton would be very unlikely given Warnock's reported price of $350,000 per season.

And if he was to re-sign, I hope its in accordance with his new market value - i.e much less than we offered him.

ROK clearly isn't worth what he and his manager think so the Swans should avoid the salary cap trouble a big contract will bring.

One of the Rawlings boys in a notorious (non-)trade. Didn't work out for the Dogs, either.

But ROK is a professional without an injury history (or a history of mental fragility) and with so many underperformers on board (some of whose contracts are hopefully up for renewing), the Weagles in particular would be likely to have the money to make him non-reluctant come PSD day.

My point is: why would he take the chance (in my view a remote one, but at best not much better than 50/50) of getting to a preferred Melbourne club at the potential cost of being sent to the other side of the country, when there aren't major on-field or off-field dramas (as far as anyone knows) where he is?

Why would Port, WC or Freo take a punt on recruiting a player who obviously doesn't want to go there and will leave as soon as he can?
