Agree with everything you say, except Port, WCE and Freo in particular will have plenty of cap space available regardless of the price ROK places on his head.

In any event I'd say a trade will be done, especially with Hawthorn in the picture

With ROK going that frees up $400,000, Everitt maybe $250,000, Mathews $250,000 so are we looking at close to $m to snare a reasonably high profile player or 2.

With ROK not signing, and you would think they have been trying for some time, then a club has been in his ear for some time, certainly longer than Brownlow night. In retrospect his wishy washy answer to his non signature on On the Couch would pretty much have turned on the warning bells.

How does the PSD work? Do the clubs have to prove to a player say ROK that they can pay his wages that he wants? Is there anything to stop the clubs picking him up and saying we only got 10 bob and 5 left, thats what you get? Just wondering how it is actually governed?

Players nominating for the draft set the terms for their contract. The team with the selection decides whether they want to draft the player or not, already knowing what terms the player is after. By selecting the player the club is deemed to agree to the terms of the contract.

I thought they had to declare to the world what they wanted. So say Carlton have been back dooring us and they agree to pay him $600,000 (his price) but along comes another club with a prior pick, they can gazzump them and he trapses off to that club. As I understand they usually nominate a pretty high price to scare off other clubs.

I think I'll sound much like Nico in saying this, but no, Greens soft.

I also think we should avoid recruiting to "replace" O'Keefe (in terms of where he plays on the field)

Definitely a warranted critcism early in his career but I reckon he has improved that side of his game.

                            Agree with that.

I was always under the impression he was softish, but a few years ago he took a super courageous mark running with the flight of the ball into a pack.

Not sure if he surprised even himself, but since that point he has been pretty courageous.

Shame about the age but I do like the thought of him taking kickouts as we seem hell bent on maintaining the worst kickout tactics in the league.
