      Nah, I don't think so.

To say that you're going to go and support the Blacktown Bogans after 18 years is just about as ridiculous as saying you're going to tear up your membership. What a load of crap.

Most of the people who talk here and who are already members will once again dig deep and put their money where their mouths are (although some to a lesser extent). To do otherwise will see us fall into the same financial woes that other clubs like Melbourne and the bushrats are going through. Personally, I don't want to see that happen.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

It may be a load of crap to you, But it's still a rip off.
You probably don't remember the games when we would be lucky to be getting 5000 to the game.
These are the people that will be seperated by the financial greed of our club.
It's not just about you or me, it's about everyone.

What a complete and utter joke!

The price of my uncovered concourse seats has gone up $85.

          ..and according to Myles Two-Dads:

"In setting the prices for 2009 we are very conscious of the current market conditions and the pressure household incomes are under. We have attempted to minimise price increases..."

What a load of bull@@@@@! What planet is this guy living on?

Each year over the past 6 years, I have promoted the club and introduced new members. In two of those years I was fortunate enough to "win" a photo with the team. This year, there is no chance I will be promoting the club (due to the cost) and I will be lucky to hang on to those mates I introduced as a new members.

And Im equally pissed off to learn about this massive price hike through posts on a website, rather than the club having the guts to write a letter to members. I presume they wanted to avoid letting me know until the last minute when they send out the bill for 2009 tickets stinging me for the price rise.

As you can tell, Im mighty pissed off.

I remember the "old" Sydney days very well, I was one of those 5,000 people.
I'm sure that if everyone who wants to sit together put their membership renewals in together (i.e. at the same time), then the club will bend over backwards to try and accommodate everyone. They always have in the past.

Why wouldn't you expect your membership to go up in price and try to budget ahead for it (if it's such a problem)? Everything else has gone up.

Judging by your profile you would have been around 10 to 12years old.
I'm sure as well that we could all move to somwhere we can all afford (i.e. Bronze/silver) and the club would sort it out
Why should I have to move from an area which I have been for so long that when we were able to smoke in the grounds (and when I was a smoker) that I didn't have to worry about non smokers because there was no one around to complain

That's right, I can move to a crap seat so we can all live happily ever after. Because I have some friends who can't afford to pay $80 more.

And of course I always factor in a 5% increase every year
              Not this. RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bless ... see everyone - even pink emu thinks I'm 29. Gotta love that!!
If it's such an issue for you, maybe you could kick in your friends' extra $80 so you can all sit together.

Why should you move to another area ... because variety is the spice of life!!

If you like your seats so much, and feel so strongly about it, you should pay the extra money. That way, the club might be able to financially exist for another year.

Remember ... as well as your "seat" - you have to pay "membership" to the club. If you were to purchase a ticket for each game (if I were, it would be "platinum seating"), it probably works out cheaper to stay a membership. (Note I said "probably" ... I haven't time to check it out.)

It has always been cheaper to be a member. That's one of the draw cards of membership, not the cap, magazines and umbrella's etc...

Since you don't see the financial concern of others, how bout lending my mates some of your ching ching. Then everyone is happy, me, you , my buddies and Myles Noheart-Hay.

I think we need to introduce the PinkEmu membership. Complete with personal butler service to keep up the social time over a glass of bubbly or two.

PinkEmu memberships mean you get the best seats in the ground and only get to sit next to really cool people. I mean like realy cool people. People who wear funky designer jeans to games, who are way too cool to actually yell at the footy when they could be talking about their new car, their overseas business class trip as well as their climb up the corporate ladder to corporate fabulessness. "Butler, another champers please!"

PinkEmu memberships are catered to people who are that little bit special, that little bit classy, people who think the stadium is all theirs & need to sit with their cool friends.

I'm signing up for a PinkEmu membership today. I hope you are too.

I suspect you've missed pink's point. I think the issue was that the club appears to be blaming the members for the price hike/changes in membership packages. There is nothing (IMHO) in pink's messages to suggest that they are a chardonnay/latte sipping supporter (not that there's anything wrong with that )

                              • That includes all the swans games in Melb,
                              • Access to Level 1 on the dome when they play there,
                              • entry for week 1 and 2 of the finals if the swans make it (previous few years have paid a bit for finals tickets),
                              • guarunteed ticket to the grannie.
                              • 5 non sydney games in AFL members,
                              • 3 ANZ / SCG games

or I can downgrade to a membership without grand final guaruntee, only preference, for only $249.

that is incredible value. A possibility to get entry to 10+ games plus finals in decent seating areas. Then if I want I can pay extra for a GF ticket, which I may not this season (or will that jinx it?).
They'd be much better value if we actually won some games in Melbourne

My point does seem to have been mislaid or misunderstood. Never mind.

And they do have a membership package named after me, it's called "Bronze"
