Yeah, I feel exactly the same. The cap and cooler last year, and the fact we can't get to many matches was why we chose the supporter membership, so we could still be club members. I don't get a membership for the extras, but when they send absolute junk I wonder why thy bother. We will be seriously considering if we renew any membership next year if they cotinue to treat us with contempt.

      Not sure its FACT Wardy.

Cheap is definitional. I joined as an AFL member, with club support, this year. Not including the joining fee, AFL membership is bloody cheap. Works out to a bit over $7.00 a game if I go to all games entitled to, not including finals or NAB cup. (going to them, its even cheaper) If I go to all Sydney games, its a bit under $15 a game.
You might think thats expensive, I don't. If I only go to Sydney Vic games then its $54 per game. Yes that is probably a bit expensive, but I didn't purchase AFL m'ship just to go to Sydney games.

Vic membership ranges from $115-329. At the bottom end it works out to $19 per game, still cheap IMO. The top end you get access to amongst other things, Prem club, AFL members reserve, International Cricket. I guess if you want it and you value it you will pay for it, in much the same way that I paid for AFL m'ship.

So true. I'd trade every key ring, hat, scarf, and back pack I have got, for 2 extra points for the good guys in the last game of 2006.

To me the caps and scarves etc are merely symbols to show others that, Yes I'm with you. If they didn't have them would I stop buying a membership? No

so you are saying that people who paid considerably more for their membership this year isnt a fact then? I would have thought that was an actual fact!!!

As I said it didnt have an effect on my membership - but I know of many who's membership did increase and therefore they didnt renew - if you read properly some members here on RWO know it as FACT that their membership increased and became too expensive for them. So with the greatest of respect - stick that in your pipe! And good luck with your AFL membership - we are all thrilled for you!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

          No I didn't say that

With all due respect Wardy...yadda yadda yadda. I'm sorry that you feel the need to become agressive. It certainly wasn't my intent to enrage you when I quoted you.

There is a massive difference between someone's opinion and something that is fact. A price increase on some memberships (as has happened in 2009) may be expensive to some but not all. Therefore not fact.

              No

If we are talking dollars and cents, our Sydney based memberships are definitely more expensive per game. I just did a quick calculation and mine is still about $33 per game including guaranteed grand final. I'd rather not have the crap, but have a slightly reduced m'ship price. But while I can still afford it, I'll pay anything to be a part of this great club!!!

I must point out also, the only reason I joined as a supporter to start with, was to show my support by dropping a few bucks in their coffers

                  i agree

i could of just got a polo top or something from the club and the money would still go to the club and i would have something half decent instead of junk i wont use.

Also when you see friends and family with memberships at other clubs that got more for less it is annoying

Just curious, for those that stick their Sydney Swans stickers onto their car windows, do you guys just stick em from the outside? Does it start to peel off or deteriorate after awhile because of the rain and the likes?

I stick it on the back window, and seeing as it doesn't rain any more in Victoria, it doesn't have any effect!
