1983 vs Sturt. Their only other GF appearance across that 40 years I think was a losing one in 1991. After many years on or close to the bottom, they're up to 6th this year and an outside chance of sneaking into the 5 for the first time in yonks.

Fewer swans connections for west than many other SANFL clubs, but they did give us Stevie Nicks.

Ah yes, '83, Kerley at the peak of his powers with a great balance of youth and experience, Borchard, Meuret, 'The Prez' (think he went to the Cats the following year), Grosser and Luders bagging the ton. My mob hung on for a quarter but she was all over at half time.

Did she sing at half time during some of our games?

For SANFL diehards, the rooftop bar of the Royal Exhibition Hotel (corner of Devonshire and Chalmers streets, Surry Hills) is apparently broadcasting the finals every week.

                    This week it's the semi-finals: (1st) Sturt v Woodville-Torrens, (2nd) Central v Glenelg.

                        That's a huge effort Ugg.
I've been reading it all year.
                        Thanks.

Good on the Northern Bullants on Friday night.
                        That was a great game.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

After Josh Willoughby capped off easily his best year of senior footy by participating in Glenelg's prelim final loss by less than a kick, having just lost the 2nd semi the week before by less than a kick, we now have a Sturt v Central grand final in the SANFL.

Making the GF every single year for a decade from 2000 is just an off-the-planet record for any team, much less one that hadn't won a single flag in their history prior to 2000. Centrals will be deserved favourites to wrap up a decade that would've been beyond the most optimistic Dogs' supporters' wildest dreams in 1999, with another triumph. Honorary ex-Swan Trent Goodrem has fought his way into the Centrals starting 21, and will be hoping he keeps his place, with the likes of Andrew Hayes now fit and gunning for a spot.

For the other mob, journeyman and Mr Consistency Scooter McGlone lines up for Sturt in his first SANFL grand final.

Devasatating. To have been clearly and unquestionably the best team during the H&A season, then go out in straight sets by less than a goal in each final, is the cruelest way to end a season. There will be much soul seeking (again) on Brighton Road.

With respect to the thread title, there won't be any gloating in this post ... much.... I'm amazed the Blues are there though. Always thought if we couldn't get over the 'dogs then the last four or so years of losses to the Bays would way heavily. Periods of St. Kilda like dominance during the game, kicking for goal........... what can you say, the Bays deserved to win the game more.
Given the reaction of the Blues after the game............ I have concerns for next week, it looked like the classic, played your GF the week before. But our history against Centrals is pretty good, not that that counts for much.
I've used up all my Adelaide travel tickets already this year and won't be heading back, (plus the slight issue of previous family committments for the long weekend). Go you Blues.
