No excuses for not being able to handle the conditions. These are professional footballers who through their junior and senior careers would have played dozens of games in worse conditions than last night.

Also, as someone else pointed out, it's been quite a wet summer in Sydney and the Swans have been training in that.

Jolly was fairly quiet for all but the last quarter and a bit. Against a younger and injured opponent he was a bit disappointing I thought. All our senior players were down.

As poor as LRT was, it doesn't help when Brown and Bradshaw are getting service like they were last night. Voss had a plan to keep dragging LRT to the goal square and it worked a treat.

Injuries are hurting us already and its only round 3. We desperately miss the spark of Veszpremi and another target in MOL. If MOL can't come up for the Carlton game, Roos must find other avenues to goal. Goodes, White or even Johnston are needed to take some pressure off Hall. ROK should be given a midfield role to get his hands on the ball.

Yep. Can't agree with people that thought Jolly was good. He was schooled by Leuenberger when the game was somewhat in the balance in the first half. Jolly couldn't easily outmuscle his opponent like he did last week. Very disappointing i thought.

Meredith has alot of class. That pick up and turn to set up the Hall goal was awesome. God it's good to get a pure footballer amongst the grunt.

We are pretty much the worst wet footy side in the comp. That stems both to the coaches and players. Tactics and just some dumb footy.

Pretty much just got shake this one off and move to Carlton. Hopefully on a nice bright sunny Saturday afternoon at the SCG.

That's no different to the last two weeks. Money bags should have gone south in the off season.

You could have said that 10 years ago, but with much of eastern Australia in drought for the last 10 years that is just not the case any more.

I thought a lot of the wet weather problems came from players following the game plan. Lots of handballs looked great last week in perfect conditions but just about anyone trying to do that in wet weather is going to fail, regardless of how well trained the players are.

                No-one wanted him. Remember?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

To be fair.. roos hasn't played him in the role that he excels in.. he is playing closer to goal and sometimes in the mid.. which i dont know why...

His strenght is to play in the wing and run and run.. but i must admit he is a bit out of source...a form slump is nothing new.. i think we should give him a bit of time to work his way back.. considered all the things he done for the swans...

That's an unfair comment to make about most players when it comes to how player movement and trading works in the AFL.

I think every single club in the AFL would like to have Ryan O'Keefe on their list, but it isn't always as easy as that.

                      Very rough judgement IMO.

We are so quick to judge and bring our team down at times here on RWO.

Rok over the past few seasons has been one of our most consistent performers. ALL players go through periods of poor form and therefore can look 'dis-interested', although in reality is really just struggling to find the footy. Let's not forget it is only round 3 that has just been played.

Rok will soon find form and we will all be singing his praises once again.

I've only been able to catch the one game live so far this season (Hawks), but in that one ROK certainly seemed to cover a hell of a lot of ground and be putting in effort. He didn't star, it happens. I find it difficult to judge ROK's work rate on television, for all I know when he's not on screen he's dropped back to the half forward line and is doing big sweeping runs.

Someone - I think it was Smith the boundary rider - commented at the start of the game that he was going to keep any eye on O'Keefe. Later in the game, Healy asked him what he'd noticed from O'Keefe and Smith responded that there didn't seem to be anything wrong with his work-rate. He just wasn't getting the ball.

In the second half he seemed to move into an on-ball role. He was frequently at the bottom of packs and putting in in defence too.

I think some on here have made up their mind about him based on the off-season and are finding "evidence" to support that, regardless of whether it is there or not. He hasn't had a great start to the season but to suggest he is disinterested is doing him a disservice.

I watched from the fence in the rain - means you can't see half the game. But you can see some play up close, and I saw White plays with manic intensity - like Kirk & Bolton - but big & fast & skillful. I saw Barlow wandering around like a little lamb lost in the woods - the opposite of White really.
Jolly won every ruck contest I saw, I can't understand people saying he had a bad game.

That's true, I'd forgotten about that exchange.

He looked to me to be trying hard out there, I hadn't really had a chance to go through the stats from last night (I'm not sure just how accurate they are, they seem a bit off with some of them) but going over them now he's credited with 19 touches, 9 of those contested and he won 6 clearances. I dare say he was trying pretty hard for a guy who wasn't trying.
