Conolly just can't win. Your kid had an absolute shocker, admit it.
Yje Bevantor had such a shocker he was responsible for a Stokes goal when he was playing on the forward line and for a turnover that came from a pass on to the chest of our number one ruchman. He'll bounce back and the knockers will go quiet again.
So, that would mean Bolton was destroyed and Bevan had a great game. Okay, thanks for the lesson.
Bolton had a dirty day. A few of his clangers - beaten to the ball at every contest in the first quarter by Johnston; fumbles and drops ball under pressure after Bevo has beaten Johnston pointless in the first quarter, forcing the kid to make a goal saving tackle on the magician; terrible free against in the back of a Geelong opponent (can't recall as i had my head in hands at this stage); is lead to the ball by Stokes who turns him like a pig on a spit and drills a goal. They were both well beaten on the day.
15 points down halfway through the third quarter, just goes to show how much better we can be when A Goodes is in the zone and can provide that run and carry we miss in the midfield.
Also, feel very sorry for McVeigh he is the other missing link which makes our midfield function and at this stage he is getting a very heavy tag at present from the opposition.
I think it's time that Roosey just releases Goodes into the midfield for a full game and tells him to just hunt the ball and run.

Don't start me on Goodes.....
When was the last time he actually won a game for us? IMHO, most of the times he has a blinder is when we're already smashing someone or when we're getting hammered and he stands out by a country mile. Never seems to be "up and about" when the game is on the line and we need to win it.

It's a hard one, as we have so few match winners Goodes gets the best opposition match up possible and probably the most work by the opposition coaches in the lead up to the game to nulify him.
It is frustrating, because when he is on song for long stretches of a game it usually means that we are playing our best football and that has alot to do with him.
His also seems to get better as the year goes on, so hopefully we see him burn it up from now on.
