Geez, the club (for I think it's them that name best players) must be absolutely in love with Gordon. Last time a top-up player (albeit a scholarshipped one) got named our BOG for the reserves? Even more remarkable in a side that has 2 or 3 real older heads.

Even by the Swans' sometimes-generous standards (see: Davis, Smokey; James, Heath), to carry a guy into 2010 who still hasn't proved he can consistently hold a spot at the top level, when the dude was picked up in the 2003 draft, would be kind of absurd. But equally, why on earth would we sack a guy who is well-ensconced in our best 22 and playing good footy? So there is a massive 8 weeks coming up, for Tim Schmidt's career. Indications are that he's going to be given a chance.

Yep just sneaked ahead of Queanbeyan by 2 points. Another home game against last placed Tuggeranong this week should give us some breathing space.

Ugg, How did Moore go? Did he play in the mid-field?

Yes Moore played in the midfield, didn't dominate as I have seen from him in the past. Went around trying to bust tackles with only intermittent success, but still could stand in the tackle and offload the handball. One thing I did like was some of his chasing off the ball, it was a much improved effort than what I've seen in the seniors. One of the positive attributes of Moore's play is his clever kicking, he knows where to put the ball that will advantage the intended recipient. I'm not sure why this hasn't been seen in the seniors. On the strength of this performance alone, I don't think he or Ablett will be back next week.

I think match fitness would be the only thing holding him back at the moment. I believe this is his second game back and I would imagine they would want him to have at least one if not two more games before they bring him back in. If Brabazon can command a place in the seniors at the moment, then it should be no problem for Schmidt as I think he is significantly better than Brabazon or even Smith.

ugg, in your opinion do you think that Roosy is not playing Moore in the right position when he plays for the firsts?

Moore hasn't got the tank to play in the middle in the seniors and unfortunately I have my doubts he ever will.

It's a shame because as ugg so rightly pointed out, some of his field kicking to find targets was sublime and a real highlight yesterday.

I am not sure Moore has a tank, but he has talent and a bright mind. Anyone at the aftermatch would have witnessed his ability to be clear and concise in his precise, and his already fine atunement to next weeks match. He has a footy brain as well as a smart one.

IMO the coaches need to find a spot for him where he can do his best work and keep breathing. Where that is I don't know, but he has to be utilised.

He wasn't at all phased by the fact he played ressies by the way. Just stated the facts and wasn't at all anxious. He may look like a kid but there is a grown man inside.
