He played some great games for the club but reality is that since 2007, he's hardly been outstanding.
No doubt there is more to this than meets the eye, but bottom line is that he has been a loose cannon of late and there is something strange going on inside of that thick skull.
Honestly, I think he made the right decision, before someone was seriously hurt.
It is sad for it to end this way but his choice. Discipline is a big part of footy.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

I, for one, am sad to see Barry Hall go.
A an awesome football talent when at his best (All Australian selection isn't just handed out).
A great team man (sometimes to a fault... he should have had a Coleman medal to his name, gave off to many goals the year he got close).
For the most part a good on-field leader and forward-line-general (I'm ignoring the recent frustrated years).
And, off-field, a gentleman. Polite and friendly to fans old and young alike. I remember him giving away heaps of his gear to young fans after a game one day. Always happy to sign away. And smiled a lot.
I hope he takes up boxing and forges a successful career.Comment

That moment sums up the man. Handpassed away a personal accolade for the team. And they couldn't even let him retire with dignity.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

And so there's no doubt, BBBH hasn't ruled out touting himself around in 2010.
Very very very hard to conceive of a possible destination apart from the Dogs. The Weagles would be the most entertaining one, though!Comment

How much longer for Roosey?
Paul Roos once intimated that he'd hang around as long as the 2005 group were with the Swans.
GONE:
Ball, Hall, Davis, Schneider, Dempster, Wlliams, Matthews
AS GOOD AS GONE
Fosdike, Kennelly, O'Loughlin, Barry
GOING SOON?
Crouch?, Ablett?Comment

I dont get it. He won't get sent off during the game for one of his indiscretions, thereby not affecting the game being played. True, we will have to live with the after effects, but the point being that when he's on the ground, he intimidates the opposition, he draws defenders and he kicks goals. When he gets suspended, we have to find a replacement forward. Now that he's gone, we have to find a replacement forward. What's the difference? Surely, the time to have done this is when the season is over.
This game is getting so soft. There is no room for the 'hard' men anymore.
Good luck Hally and thanks for the memories.Comment

What a waste.
A player who is clearly still in our best 18 and could have played on and contributed for a year or two longer... BUT...
Selfishly abused umpires and let down his team mates with constant brain explosions.
In the end a relief to finally see the angry moron go.
Was clearly pushed which at least restores some integrity to the club and the no &^%heads policy."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment
