In fact ,I think the clubs public handling of Hall, over the last week, has been shameful.

Good luck and best wishes big fella.

    So True......
    Well Roos got his wish.....
He was hoping for Hall to retire so they did`nt have to pay him out..
This is a win for Bazz gets paid gets a holiday and tags up with the Dogs..
Going to a copach that will back him up,not hang out to dry for every little thing that happends. Oh Roos can also use this as an excuse to justify his existance as coach..
Wish roos would get sacked next year..DOG

So you're saying that others here who also have stated that they don't agree with how the club, Roos and the leadership group have handled this issue are also full of 'dribble'?

I have no idea why you are raising the 'Melbourne issue'

Baz is no bunny. There is no way he would have sat in that press conference and talked bull@@@@. It's not his way.
What was very poignent was the sadness on the faces of the team. You can tell they really love the bloke. Mickey O was tearing up.
I hope he finds some peace, happiness and a good woman. Has lots of sons and wants them to be Bloods.

Kanga as they say truth will out. What really happened will emerge. The club has stiffed a player who played with ticker. Thats bad enough but the sanctimonious garbage of Roos and Co just demeans the club even more. If they let Hall say goodbye to the punters on Saturday there will be no doubt he left with their respect. None for the shafters and smart arses that squeezed him out.

Interesting. We had a player who walked out of a contract and is treated with love by the club. And we have a player who desperately wants to play and is shown the door. And is publicly humiliated by his coach and captain. And any supporter who disagrees with the suits and the smart cockies in their decision to publicly denigrate a great but flawed player will cop some abuse to go on with. Something not right here Voltaire?

Don't really believe the Dogs will pick him up for next year, they'd wanna be paying him pittance given the risks associated therewith and I don't believe Hall would play for peanuts given whats on offer in the ring.
He'll do it just to shove it up the Swan's administration, the same administration that hung one of their own out to dry. Shame Sydney shame

Amazing how the discussion of the departure of Hally can be linked back to a extensive and tedious b*tch-fest-slagging of Tadhg.

I like Hally. I will miss him. But how are you measuring his "desperately wanting to play"? By his willingness to change his game style and stop hitting people and getting suspended? (whether he can is another issue entirely - and I think it might be beyond his control). By how many times he oppologises and says he has to change to his and the club's betterment? (and I do believe he means it when he says it, but might not be able to control that split second reaction which is purely instinct and impulse).

Not to defend Roosey and Kirky, but their most recent public reactions occured after a number of indiscretions on Barry's part since 2006 (or even before). Early on they were all very supportive. They lost patience with repeat offences.

As with Tadhg, why not respect Barry Hall as a player, a man and a Swan. Admire his achievements and contribution the the club they both... and we all... love and let him/them go with dignity. In my books, Barry Hall, Tadhg Kennelly, Nick Fosdike, Michael O'Loughlin and anyone else who retires this year (or are delisted or traded) will depart with my thanks and best wishes.

Seriously, how did you imagine it would end???

Everyone happy, us winning a GF, barry riding off into the sunset.

Since the PL in 06, where he was brillant, I haven't see a great match from him since.

living on borrowed time, like many of the players.

Sad to see him go, aggression and a personality is what this club need. There is no one in the club with a one cell of individualism in them, not one.

REMEMBER THE GREAT DAYS; 2005 PREMIERSHIP.

and just leave it at that people.

I can smell the incense. I had to look up the meaning of dignity. It means the state of honour or worthy of respect. No respect or honour was shown to Hall by Roos or Kirk. They went public with comments that demeaned a great footballer. I was simply pointing out the obvious fact that this year is an implosion. We have lost a key player who simply walked out on his contract. And the club did nothing to enforce its contract. And we have a great player who is squeezed out in a very humiliating fashion allegedly for the reason that he breached the rules of the competition. The rejection by a club for the misdemeanors of Hall is the heaviest penalty ever imposed by a club on a player for that type and degree of offense. I don't know of any club where this combination of support for disloyalty and rejection of a loyal player has occured. Do you?

Which will become obvious at the end of the season. Roos, Dick and Vlad would have engaged in a stategy meeting and discussed how to manage it in the media. The AFL owns this club in more ways than one.

I take your concern on board but how is that defamatory? How does the speculation that Roos and Demetriou talked about managing the media concerning Hall damage anyone's reputation?

The Swans are still in the race for a final eight spot. So they permanently push the key FF out the door for a soft indiscretion re-played a 1000 times on every TV channel in the country.
