            Might look something like this:

            Veszpremi White Moore
            Barlow Goodes Grundy

A bit short on experience though, but we'll manage.

We'll probably have blokes from the midfield rotate through there as well : O'Keefe, J Bolton, McVeigh, Jolly - each of these is handy in front of goals (Jude surprisingly so at times)

Maybe some backmen might pinch-hit forward, like Richards or LRT (each kicked a goal on the weekend so that's not out of the question).

Someone will just have to step up, as they would have had to do anyway (considering Hall might only have lasted one more year at best anyway).

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

              Moore, Johnston, Goodes
              Barlow, White, Veszpremi

Yes, I have Johnston at CHF ahead of Goodes. Goodes will play a similar role to this year, drifting between the forwardline and the midfield. Hopefully he'll cop the best defender, leaving White, Johnston and Barlow to stretch them up forward. Raw, far from ideal, but having Goodes around should allow these players to have some sort of impact.

No matter how good Johnston is at the moment or is going to be you cannot expect a 19 year old kid to hold up CHF for us. Superstars like Riewoldt took years to even begin to make consistent contributions to the side.

personally we need to target a key forward.

It showed on the weekend without someone willing to stand up down there.
Just look at our inside 50's for the last qtr compared to scoring shots.
Normally Micky O would eb the one, but even he knows the body doesn't do what the mind wants.

So who do we target, we cannot just fill the gaps with what we have..

Fev seems to be on the outer at the Blues, or even target Rusling if Pies dont want him.

regardless its somethign we need to consider while we develop our up and coming forwards consdiering the next 2 drafts after this year...

I'm not expecting him to "hold up" CHF. I was just explaining the way I'd listed the forwardline. I don't think we'll have a genuine CHF next year. Johnston, White, Barlow, Goodes, maybe even Grundy will all cycle through that position. It was more just explaining why Goodes was on a flank and Johnston (it could have been White or Barlow) was at CHF.

We're going to have to be creative with how we use our forwards next year. None of our key forwards will have a set position. I think it would be best for our forwards to have their role determined by who they're playing on. For example, say we were playing Collingwood. Presti takes White, Maxwell takes Barlow, Harry O takes Goodes and Nathan Brown takes Johnston. White and Johnston would try to push up the ground and run off their opponents in Presti and Brown, both of whom are at their best in or around the goal square. Goodes and Barlow play out of the goalsquare, keeping the rebounder O'Brien and expert-third-man-up Maxwell out of the play.

While our key forwards next year will be very raw, this comes with a hidden bonus: none of our players are settled, which means they will be flexible. Goodes' versatility only adds to this. If Roos is innovative enough, things will work for us.

If we we sort out our piss poor delivery it won't matter who is down there...well provided we hit up the leading target. I think we prove that we have versatility.

What's wrong with the tactic on Sunday of bombing it long and let's pray Goodes take the speccie? At least it's entertaining!

Roughead the one to go after (albeit with the small problem of a year to run on his contract - will need to be creative to work it out - any ideas?).

Forces at work at Glenferrie might see them willing to trade - salary cap pressures, crumbling of the dynasty before the family members even really got to enjoy the trappings (all the talk that next year was to be the one and last year was just a bonus is a bit of revisionist self help talk to keep from panicking), a bit tired of always being considered second banana behind Buddy ...

And the perfect marketing opportunity - we've cleared out one rough head to make room for another! As much as we loved Bazza, he was never picturesque!

i didn't find it entertaining, i found it useless and not achieveig the result required..
                            Barlow is the biggest culprit...

We prided ourselevs to think ourswelves through the defensive set-ups to get it into our forward 50..its what made us successful....

Sure bomb it in if we have 1 on 1's with no one else around...
