Still he's got a booming kick and he would take their best defender. If he didn't take the mark he would leave plenty of oppurunity for the crumbers..........anyway it was just a thought.

What about one of the Hawthorn boys who cant get a game Tim Boyle or Mitch Thorp it would be pretty hard to break into the Hawthorn forward line and both are probably looking to get some senior footy they have had a couple of years on an afl list too so would be ready to go. The only problem is questions about their durability and ability to string games together but the swans have a good record or keeping players on the park

          Both players are pretty decent
Though most people are now dreaming of a power forward to market like Roughhead or Fevola etc with the departure of Bazza.

Both out for the rest of the season with injuries, so it's not as if they're available and can't break into the side. Boyle's OK but I wouldn't touch him with his injury history. Thorp was a high draft pick but has been injury prone and shown very little to date - I'd take him but you wouldn't want to give up much for an unproven, injury-prone KP player.

i would love to see the big dopey fev roaming the sydney goal square but unfortunately i think i will have to keep dreaming according to this Swans' forward cupboard is bare - AFL Premiership - Fox Sports there aint much chance.

Sorry if it's been posted elsewhere, but I really liked this article as it shows Roos has faith in Johnston, White and Vez!

"At the end of the year we'll sit down and discuss it, but I don't think at this stage we'll be shopping around," Roos said. "I think next year - depending on what happens at the end of this year, and obviously we still want to be competitive - but next year might be a period where we do play [rookie] Lewis Johnston at full-forward and Jesse White at centre half-forward and Patty Veszpremi in the pocket ? things like that."

This would free up more salary cap space in future years to increase our purchasing power for uncontracted players at a time when we might be competitive again ??
I believe that's what Carlton did with Judd's contract.

"If you are a footy club and you have anyone who can play up forward out of contract, you must be the worst footy club in the world," Nixon said.

"The days are gone when Tony Lockett or Barry Hall are going to be out of contract like they were when they went to Sydney.

"Riewoldt, Pavlich, Brown, Franklin, Jarryd Roughead all have at least two years left on their contract.

"The only way to get a key forward now is to develop one, you can't bank on pinching an out-of-contract player; you have to get him through the draft and nurture him. The Swans know that as well as I do." Nixon said next year's draft "is the worst I have seen ever for tall, key-position forwards".

Although a KPP is most likely a priority in this years draft, we really need to find a proper replacement for Crouch.

A fast small defender has to be a very high priority.

According to reports, Butcher is the only KP player of any note likely to go in the top 10 and even he is marginal unless Melbourne decide to take a punt with pick 2 after taking Scully.

Think we may have to go midfield/utility with our first pick and look for a diamond in the rough later in the draft.

Could see us using a 2nd rounder/player combo for Matt Maguire to sure up our defence as well.

Buddy Franklin. They will only need 1 clause in his contract; "keep the fridge full of beer at all times".
