Still he's got a booming kick and he would take their best defender. If he didn't take the mark he would leave plenty of oppurunity for the crumbers..........anyway it was just a thought.
Room in the salary cap - who do we throw money at?

What about one of the Hawthorn boys who cant get a game Tim Boyle or Mitch Thorp it would be pretty hard to break into the Hawthorn forward line and both are probably looking to get some senior footy they have had a couple of years on an afl list too so would be ready to go. The only problem is questions about their durability and ability to string games together but the swans have a good record or keeping players on the parkComment

Though most people are now dreaming of a power forward to market like Roughhead or Fevola etc with the departure of Bazza.Comment

Sorry if it's been posted elsewhere, but I really liked this article as it shows Roos has faith in Johnston, White and Vez!

"At the end of the year we'll sit down and discuss it, but I don't think at this stage we'll be shopping around," Roos said. "I think next year - depending on what happens at the end of this year, and obviously we still want to be competitive - but next year might be a period where we do play [rookie] Lewis Johnston at full-forward and Jesse White at centre half-forward and Patty Veszpremi in the pocket ? things like that."Comment

Does anybody know:
If we fall short of our salary cap for the next year or two can we readjust the payments of our long-term contracted players to "front end" their contracts ie pay them more now and less in the later years of their contracts. This would free up more salary cap space in future years to increase our purchasing power for uncontracted players at a time when we might be competitive again ??The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

"The days are gone when Tony Lockett or Barry Hall are going to be out of contract like they were when they went to Sydney.
"Riewoldt, Pavlich, Brown, Franklin, Jarryd Roughead all have at least two years left on their contract.
"The only way to get a key forward now is to develop one, you can't bank on pinching an out-of-contract player; you have to get him through the draft and nurture him. The Swans know that as well as I do." Nixon said next year's draft "is the worst I have seen ever for tall, key-position forwards".The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

Although a KPP is most likely a priority in this years draft, we really need to find a proper replacement for Crouch.
A fast small defender has to be a very high priority.Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.

Think we may have to go midfield/utility with our first pick and look for a diamond in the rough later in the draft.
Could see us using a 2nd rounder/player combo for Matt Maguire to sure up our defence as well.

Buddy Franklin. They will only need 1 clause in his contract; "keep the fridge full of beer at all times".Comment
