While Sydney is good for those seeking anonymity which has usually been the older players who are sick of the attention , I would think this would actually not be such a positive for a younger guy seeking to make a name for themselves in the game.
I think at the end of the day the only way to get recogintion away from Melbourne, no matter old or young, is to play finals. If our youth know and understand this I am happy. If they want recognition play finals....it's collectively on their shoulders.

I think most of us would like the Swans to be treated by the media with a little respect and positive acknowledgement of our existence. On a personal level I think that is what we all want for ourselves too.

But, its not going to happen. And that's the stark nature of the media because it is mostly out of Melbourne and the parochial "whats mine is mine and what's yours is mine" attitude is deeply ensconsed. Sydney media barely know of our existence, but perhaps with the NRL behaving SOOO badly they will prefer to talk nice about a team for a change.

Then again, at least we are not Fremantle. Who'd want to be Fremantle.

Sheahan might have given the impression he didn't care one way or the other whether the Swans think they have some promising up-and-comers, but he did at least jot down some of the names Healy rolled off and has looked up the results of last week's reserves game.

4.56am Liz!!! You have got to be kidding!.

But thanks for the lead. Had a look, perhaps he has been stung into acknowledging our existence. The Daily Tele has NOTHING today, and we are playing this afternoon. Isn't this "our" newspaper! Who is looking after the publicity at the Swans? Anyone? Culled and in a rebuilding phase?

I'm in Sydney on holidays at the moment and there has been plenty of TV advertising. I have been pleasantly surprised.

Except it was Sheahan not Healy who read out the names.
