I agree on Raines. I've got a soft spot for the Tiges so I watch alot of their games and I've always felt that he had "IT", but never seemed to be able to really bring it out. Think he would be a great fit.
    Agree with uninformed about Pearce.

      Scott Harding from The Lions.

Struggling to crack their midfield but did play on Sat night and was impressive.

Clean, Quick and has good disposal.

Agree with this. I would like to see us try to trade him for Matt Maguire. Both around the same age, neither can crack their respective sides, Lyon being a former Swans coach would know a lot about Buchy and would have seen first hand him in top form, and we could do with an extra defender as cover.

I like Maguire and that would be a good trade. The only thing I'd be worried about is the state of his leg. He hasn't been able to crack the St Kilda side even when Dawson and Hudgton were out

Played the bulk of the season in the VFL so you'd think his leg is sound. He might've lost his speed, that's the only thing. Anyone see any of his games for Sandringham?

Agreed - from what we saw of Meredith he is a real keeper and should blossom with a couple more pre-seasons and some solid experience.

Meredith oozes class. His main problem is that he doesn't get enough of the ball. If he does, he could become a real star for us. His kicking ability is tremendous. Also if we can get Kennelly back then you would think Malceski would go. Maybe he could be used as trade bait. All in all, the Swans should probably make a move for Lake or Maguire. A key forward isn't really a priority, though maybe a player who can kick two goals a game would be good, playing around the flank or maybe in the pocket. Maybe a Jetta from Essendon, or maybe Pearce in the midfield.

This sounds dodgy (even I groan). But someone who knows someone who has been at board level in years past (and still involved at the club) says that Ablett and Buchanan are going to be pushed as trade. No other players have been mentioned. No mention of delistings.

On this one Will I have to disagree. I have always seen him as over rated and I reckon his stocks have grown the longer he has been out of the game. He was always to me a rather loose defender.

I wouldn't entertain him in a pink fit.

Strewth the Westoff bandwagon has come to a sudden halt. He was seen as an emerging great white hope at the start of the season until he got injured.

He was playing second fiddle to Tredrae when he played later in the season. Not that I put him in the MOL class but if we are looking to replace the great man then Westoff could be a ready made. He hasn't played a heck of a lot of footy.

Yeah, right, Kane Cornes! Like trading Brett Kirk!

I don't think Ablett would consider going. From his recent media it shows he is a Swan through and through and i doubt it has entered his head. And I don't want him traded either. I like his quality. Not his kicking per se, but his quality.

This would be the least surprising news story of all time, if true. They're the cookie-cutter trade bait options. Bucky has some trade value (Richmond, e.g., could do with someone who looks like they give a crap about winning the hard ball), but NOG surely has minimal or nil by this stage.

Kane Cornes won't be trade bait IMO. Not interested in Ebert or Westhoff. Pearce if his head's in the right spot and the price is right, but it's not likely to be.

If Nick Lower is delisted by the Pahhhhhr (which is not unlikely) we would be mad not to pick him up with a late pick or at worst a rookie. High 180s cm, mobile, mostly in defence but plays anywhere, loves a scrap and getting his own footy and is also a good mover able to find space outside, can play on talls and is a decent grab, achilles is tendency to burn the ball by foot-- but far better disposal than Luke Brennan and not significantly worse than Shaw. Issue appears to be concentration/execution rather than a terminal technique problem-- also capable of disposing of the ball very well by foot. Could easily become a 5 years younger and somewhat smaller Richards. We don't want to pick up 8 18-year-olds in this draft and so we need to think outside the square to find some older players who add something to the list.

I think it was the Footy Show last night that suggested Shaun Burgoyne may be looking for a move from Port (apparently everyone there has been told they could be traded) - I'd gladly look at trying to get him to the Swans.

I also heard Moore's name bandied about alongside those two.
