He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

I think it?s fair to say Jolly was one of the more contentious omission from the squad of 40.
After all the cries from RWO to play more youth I think it?s fair question to ask if ROK's best contribution to our next premiership would be a high draft pick.Last edited by Cardinal; 14 September 2009, 08:54 AM.Comment

O'Keefe is a great player but honestly I think we should seriously consider trading him. With where we are at in this point in time an extra first round pick would be extremely handy, and O'Keefe probably won't be around for our next flag tilt.
Same goes for Jude Bolton.
Just my opinion. And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .Comment

If ROK is around come 2013, then I think he's a definite chance of contributing to our next Premiership. In the mean time, he will set a fantastic example on the training track for our young players coming through, and his ability on field will help maintain a winning culture throughout our rebuilding years. We're losing enough experience this year. We need to keep all the rest we can.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

I would assume that your would like to see it earlier and if that is the case we are not going to trade any of our top liners unless forced to.
ROK may not play in the next premiership team, but players like him, Goodes, J & C Bolton, Shaw, Mattner etc will be crucial in making sure the next generation are protected in their development and we maintain the standards that have been set by the club over the last 10 years.
Cut what experienced better players we have now for draft picks (no matter how good they are) and we are looking at 10 years of hell.

There were 3 ruck positions selected....which IMO is the correct number. At the halfway mark Jolly was probably No.2 - the second half of the season had him at 4...possibly 3. He wasn't going to be selected for the AA team on half a good season.....whether he had a slight injury or his intensity slipped away - I don't know. What I do know is had he gone down this year we would have been badly exposed. Probably the most important Swan ATM - AA or not.The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

good decision Sydney clearly not interested in Lake, told him two weeks ago
