Lets wait and see what happens with everything the swans are suppose to be involved in with trading players.

      re Jolly

Must be the "missus" again. If its serious and he is? then lets trade him back to wence he cam, the Deomons they can give us the pick (I think 11) they got from Carlton for McLean. Dont trade him to a club that will be contesting for the finals Collinwood odf all places. Swans stick to your guns he tried this last year (or should I say they (wife included)) and only sell him to the Demons they need a ruck man and wont be anywhere near the top 8 next couple of years. Bugger the pies.

Join the forum one day and then wake up to see Jolly heading to COllingwood the next.

I am going back to bed and when I wake up this will all have been a horrible nightmare.....

Jolly is worth a lot more than pick 14.
Should be plenty of other clubs putting their hand up for a crack at one of the best ruckmen in the business, in his prime.
            For example....
Hawthorn....staight swap for Roughhead, or pick 9 and a player
            Melbourne....pick 2
Given he's contracted we should be driving for a very good deal.

It's certainly disappointing to potentially lose such a good player... but on the other hand the focus on youth is exciting and a couple more high draft picks in the last uncompromised draft is best case scenario (imagine how little worth he'll have at the end of his contract?). The fact is we won't be challenging for a flag in the next 3 years and if we get a chance to bring some quality kids in at the expense of some short term pain the ruck then I'm all for it.

Now all we need to do is get a 2nd or 3rd rounder for Hall... and NOT trade our 2nd rounder for Seaby (or Fev)...

Bloody oath! Collingwood is dreaming if they think pick 14 is sufficient for a quality player like jolly. I was wondering why we wanted seaby so bad, ahwell put him, currie and pyke into the rucks, all not lost and we SHOULD get a very good deal for jolly!

I'm over him, let him go.
He's shown no loyalty to the club and this comes only two years after the last "I want to go home" whinge. Melbourne's an hour away for heavens sake, not the other side of the planet, what is it with these people!
At least this time we can get something really worthwhile for him.

I'm not really bothered at all to be honest. We are rebuillding and that sometimes means you need to sacrifice quality players for high draft picks. Having two picks inside the top 15 is a massive boost. Guess he let the club know of his desire to head back to Melbourne some time ago given our strong interest in Seaby.

Despite all of the criticism he gets I honestly think Seaby can play. He was given almost no game time by the weagles this year and could really thrive if he was the number 1. He played a semi final this year in the WAFL up against Naitanui and embarassed him. He's 25/26 which eans he can lead us to our next flag tilt.

It will need to be pick 14 and a player or Collingwood will need to upgrade that pick to a top 10.

                        Agree.

Pies are on the verge of a flag tilt. We're still a few years away. That deal should suit both.

Liam Pickering said this morning that it will be for pick 14 and an unknown player.

I'm okay with pick 14 and an unkown player. I actually wouldn't mind rolling the dice on Ben Reid getting past his injuries, he'd be cheap from a $ perspective but I'm not sure how highly he's viewed within the club- if he's viewed highly then maybe play hardball with them on it.

Darren's a very good ruckman, and they're certainly hard to find, but I don't see us contending in the next few years. Going back to Melbourne comes up a lot so it's obviously important to them so may as well get it over with.

Has Lake signed yet? If Jolly leaves and we don't take back a lot of salary we really will have a lot of room to get him to set a hefty price in the PSD (if we really are that keen).
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

At least Tadgh toughed it out and stayed 10 years and 3 more years after his father died and he was from another country not just a 1 hour flight away. Seems to me these players want the fame of Melbourne and their wives probably want to be a part of the WAGS! Let him go I say, who wants players that are not prepared to stick around when it gets tough. Let's face it Jolly was handed a dream run, a Premiership in his first year here, nearly one in his second year, finals appearance in his 3rd and 4th. Makes me admire Goodes so much, as he must get sick of being the player that sacrifices his game to plug our holes and yet he remains loyal. I think it would be funny if Jolly ended up at Melb again - what a laugh, or the struggling Kangaroos.
