Basically Hawthorn has number 9 set on Burgoyne. They're not going to give any more to Port. If Port doesn't agree, Burgoyne will nominate for the ND, and the Hawks will just use pick 9 to pick him up. Don't see any of the other teams using a top 8 pick on Burgoyne. In Pelchen's warped sense of thinking, why should he bother helping Port out in compensation when he knows the maximum he will lose for Burgoyne is pick 9.

If he thinks Burgoyne can go in the draft and not lose him to Melbourne, which has no big salaries and a no2 pick to use, good luck to him.

This time of year is interesting. I have just heard a rumour that Jolly really does want back to Melbourne explaining why we are going so hard on Seaby.
Hawks are interested which is why McGlynn/Kennedy are up.
I have no idea if this is genuine.

Of those we lost, Licuria, Barry Mitchell, Gerard Healy (sort of), Mark Orchard, Paul Morwood, Brereton (sort of)...

That Rocca trade was abysmal. We got four players and they were all gone in about two seasons.

We also got Gavin Rose from them.

Lost his spot to O'Keefe in 2001 and never made it back from the reserves. The ironic thing was that it was his first injury-free season in years.
