For sure we can front load contracts, we probably will and it would be smart to do so. There will be some players out of contract next season and clubs would rather trade them than give them to the gold coast for free so there will be a chance of snagging a big fish next year.

It's not over the odds. 4 yrs for $1m+ = <$300k PA. IIRC, Jolly is well over that figure. It may be expensive up front, but I'm confident he will be a $300k+ player. especially when GC & WS are on the prowl for ruckmen.

It could turn out to be very expensive if he is another Chambers. At the moment he is a very inexperienced rookie with close to no track record and the club is banking a lot on him being at least half decent.

Definitely not another Chambers, you only have to watch him play to see that. It's definitely a gamble but I'm confident it will pay off.

I don't know how many games Chambers had played, but Mummy played 18 this year so you'd think the coaches have had a close look at him and like what they see.

Sooo the Swans have 4 hours to get the
Kennedy, McGlynn, Mumford, and maybe a surprise player (there always is) done.

We will prob have pick 6, 14, and 38 in the draft (assuming 28 and 39 are traded). Who do the Swans get in the draft.
Rohan/Morrabito (if he falls back that far)
then maybe a Moore (next ROK), Tapscott (best kick in the draft) or maybe a Jetta (if he falls back which he might seeing as he will be 21).

Also just wanted to ask, don't the Swans have a father-son-selection next year?

Well if that's the case, then there is no argument!!!

Also he is well regarded by the fans, which poor ole Chambers wasn't. I do feel sorry for that kid, he was nice. Couldn't play at a high enough standard, but he was a nice kid.
