Told youse we'd come out smelling like roses!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I slyly suspect that we may not be done yet. because of the new rule allowing a rookie elevation to count as one of the minimum compulsory three draft selections we could get away with just using picks 6 and 14 in the National Draft. If the Swans team can find a taker for pick 38, say a team that has traded away a lot of picks like Brisbane, we may trade away 38 for a player with some games under his belt, rather than punt for an untried teenager.

Did you hope for him AND pick 14? That's not much less realistic than those Bloos fans who still think Roos is going to wander into trade room this morning and offer up pick 6, White, Vez and ROK for Fevola.

          From AFL.com

"The Age also reports that the Sydney Swans attempted unsuccessfully to land Richmond's first round draft pick (No.3) by offering picks No.6 and No.14."

I wonder who we really want?

I think the Kennedy deal has pushed this from being a very mixed trade period to being a big win. To get a player of that youth and potential for pick 39 is an absolute steal.

We come out of trade week with picks 6 & 14. Two young ruckmen (Seaby & Mumford) with a lot of upside to replace our aging single ruckman. McGlynn, a young, best 22 player at Hawthorn, inside midfielder. And Kennedy, a strong bodied midfielder with a lot of upside and huge potential. On top of that we have unloaded Buchanan who has been nothing but a spud for two years.

Double thumbs up to the team at the trading table.
              What he said.

Also in response to someone else's question. Sometimes you have to give enough rope to allow enough play so you get what you really want. It was an extremely well played game of chess by the PTB. We have kept players, we have only released two, and we have depth in replacing our retired fellas with players the PTB wanted. Looks like the coaching staff were in charge of our destiny this year (for a change).

im very happy with our trade dealings this week and i have a strong feeling we will get 2 guns out of number 14 and number 6. I dont know much about neither kennedy or mcglynn but i hope they turn out alright. can anyone give me an insight into kennedy?

Jebus, it'll be a whole new team out there for Rd1.

(Rd1 is soon right? Sick of no footy)

Dont be surprise if Swans trade away a player (Barlow, Ablett, Malceski) to maybe get another draft pick or another player. There is always a surprise purchase.

                        Definitely Dustin Martin.

Woohoo, woohoo, happy happy dance with the Draft so far, well done Swans.

The Big Swans team down there at the Final day in Melbourne means we're not done even yet. Looks like we will go for someone with immense aggression and it won't be Fev. I think you're right, it'll be Richmond's #3 pick for that Dustin boy. I watched a couple of minutes on Youtube and he had 17 effective, polished touches in 10 minutes!!!!!

ummm, Richmond rejected our offer so looks like no Dustin Martin for us unfortunately.
in the mean time i am concerened about this from Whitey

"TRADE WEEK: I am getting new information claiming Sydney is back in the running for Brendan Fevola. Talks are apparently under way..."

Kennedy is easily the new player that I'm happiest about, I think that's a very cheap price to pay for him too.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I think our cheapest pickup will be our best. I think McGlynn will do really well with us.
