Round 1 v St Kilda, Telstra Dome.

BEST: Craig Bolton, Darren Jolly, Brett Kirk, Jude Bolton, Adam Goodes, Craig Bird

It was said before the game that Hall would eat young Zac Dawson for breakfast. What a surprise we got.
Dawson held Hall to 1 goal, who struggled to get into the game. Dawson even put Big Barry on his arse with a classic shirtfront. The Swans got off to a great start with 5 goals to lead the Saints at quarter time. Unfortunately it would be another hour or so before the next goal, while the saints started to fire. Craig Bolton kept Riewoldt under check, but the Saints had other avenues to goal. The Swans managed to kick some late goals to put a bit of respectability to the score. Grundy finished with 2 goals, while Bird and Kirk were amongst the top possession getters.

    Round 2 v Hawthorn @ SCG.

BEST: Jarrad McVeigh, Craig Bolton, Nick Malceski, Adam Goodes, Jesse White, Lewis Roberts-Thomson, Darren Jolly

The Buddy show rolled into town during the week. The Hype was building Buddy, The Twin Towers, Goodes ...
No would have picked Mark Williams to be the unsung hero, chipping in for not one, but 2 goals in 2 minutes, finishing the quarter with 3 to give the visitors the early ascendancy. Buddy was barely sighted as was his twin tall. 5 of the first 6 goals, went to Hawthorn. This could be a long night. Hawks by 2 goals.
With not much in the ruck department for the Hawks, Jolly started to dominate in this area, and when rested, young Jesse White stepped up and didn't let the domination slide. The defence ws working over time, with LRT, Ted, Bolton C, keeping the dynamic duo very quiet. A goal a piece in the first half. While the 5 goalswere shared amongst the swans with White kicking the Swans to within 2 points, after the half time siren.
Craig Bird lifted his game in the third to be fairly dominant, 8 goals piled on by a multitude of players. The hawks strived to stay in the game, but the momentum was swinging Sydneys way. A 21 point lead at 3 quarter time, and things were loking good.
Jolly, with help from White, continued there dominance in the ruck, and Jolly even chimed in for a couple of goals after losing his opponent. Even his worst kick of the night still sailed through for a goal. Captain Kirk even managed to snag a set shot with a floater. by half way through the quarter, the game was pretty much decided. Buddy had tried to get his team going, but couldn't break the shackles of Bolton and his able assistants, LRT, Ted, Mattner, and Shaw.

Swans by a comfortable 38 points over the reigning Premiers.

    1-1-0.

Scott, for Zac Dawson to give Baz a shirtfront is startling enough, but SHORTfront sounds both painful and rather rude. Should it be changed?
Otherwise, off to a good start.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

        Krishna bless ya Scotty!!

        I love the TLM.

Give ya one guess who my early prediction is???
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

          Round 3 v Brisbane, Gabba.

BEST: Bolton J, Bevan, Shaw, Jack, Jolly, Hall

The Lions haven't beaten the swans in 4 seasons. With 4 goals to Brown and Bradshaw, the swans struggled to match it with the resurgent lions. They were just too classy for and lead at every break. Goodes was well held by Patfull, while Jack kept power quiet, and Jolly held his own in the ruck. Jude Bolton never gave up, but it was to no avail.

          The Lions by 33 points.

          Round 4 v Carlton @ SCG.

BEST: McVeigh, Shaw, Grundy, Roberts-Thomson, J. Bolton, C. Bolton

While the swans didn't dominate the play in the first half, they dominated the scoreboard, given no Hall in the forward line. 9 shots (swans) to 15, but they lead by 14 points at the main break.Even though the Blues turned their poor scoring around, to kick 6.1 in the 2nd half, while the swans managed 5.10, but it was enough to hang on for victory.
McVeigh had the better of Judd, kicking 3 goals, including a roving the tap snap.
Grundy and Shaw both had excellent games.

          Swans by a 17 points.

          2-2-0.

I'm tipping Goodes, Rhys Shaw, ROK to make up top 3. Hall to fall away towards end of season.

I still think Craig Bolton was worthy of his AA selection and hopefully this will be reflected with a win in the Luffmeister.
