"It really is now or never if I'm going to do it," Kennelly explained. "It's pretty serious. I have less than a week to think about it. It's a lifestyle choice - do I want a few more All-Irelands or return to Australia.

"I enjoy being home. My mum is strong about it, we're not talking - we're arguing and shouting about it.

"I almost want someone to make the decision for me. It's the same thing as when I was 18 going over, I'll lay down the pros and cons on paper. I've made some big decisions in my life before so I'm sure I'll be fine."

I'm almost positive there has never been one in the AFL.

You'll need to go back to VFL days.

PS. If that's what you meant AFL/VFL, google would be your friend I'd imagine.

Geez that goo...gle isn't half bad.

Malcolm Blight was the answer is gave me, North in 1981. He continued playing after he got the sack as coach too.

Yes he has, I believe Maggoo's was supporting my point that the quotes in the article were referring to the past not the present.

Based on this it says Kennelly has officially told Kerry that he'll be heading back to Australia

He is coming back for the book signings.

If Ross Lyon gets Kennelly to Saints that would be really painful. I would be happy for Kennelly to come back to Swans but how many other clubs are going to try and backstab us. Uncertain about Bradshaw as well. Melbourne clubs are such creeps when they come to other interstate clubs.
This is not a national competition. How could it be with Collingwood's draw - so loaded for them 6 games in a row, the last six at the MCG.

Why doesn't Demetriou just hand them the cup for 2010.?

Come on Swans fight stand up and get Kennelly back to the Swans as a coach or a player. Coach would be great too.
                        Love those Swans

If he is coming back to play AFL, he is going to look like one hell of an average person if he changed clubs after leaving us with 1 year left on a contract. St. Kilda or anyone else is allowed to sound him out, but I seriously doubt he would entertain anyone but us. Can you imagine? "Leaves Swans with a year to go on contract to chase Irish dream, gets dream after less than a year so quickly dumps Ireland and then dumps Swans for more money at St. Kilda" He'd be a pariah and in my opinion with massive damage to his repuation here and in Ireland, rightly so too.

Soooo, if he decided to go to another AFL club after everything that has gone before him, I'd happily say good riddance

Having agreed with Damien, I don't think it's a bad idea for Tadgh to determine his 'market value' (cringe) based on what other clubs are offering and then asking Sydney to match that.
