when injured players "rest" they remain very active to maintain fitness and flexibility and build strength in weakened areas. he's had a year of part-time reduced-impact training, a tonne of physio and is moving well by all reports. he hasn't had a dislocation in all that time and is tape-free for the first time in years.
in afl terms he has had a years rest.
no-one is expecting an injury-free five years. he'll probably have a couple of issues this year as most senior players experience and as he readjusts to afl but i'm anticipating at least a couple of years of genuine output.then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i knowComment

With Kennelly back that sets our backline up. We have a couple of talls in Grundy and LRT, the reliable Bolton, 3 running players in TK, Mattner and Shaw and Smith. Pretty handy if I may say so.
Bradshaw up forward and an emerging midfield says we could be the big surprise packet of 2010. Looks pretty exciting to me. If we can keep our injury level down look out.Comment

Exciting yes, but a bit of a worry also..
Roosy says;" having a halfback line with Tadhg, Shaw, Mattner, Malceski will be pretty exciting"...
Yes in one sense it will...ie tonnes of run, plenty of speed and pretty good disposal....but....When we don't have the ball......
Other than Mattner, none of them can, or are willing to, tackle.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Would you trade tadhg for a very high draft pick?
No.
We've lost nothing by keeping him other than a very high draft pick.

With Malceski it is all hypothetical because he will be playing 2's. Strewth, Ablett was in better form than him.Exciting yes, but a bit of a worry also..
