Bradshaw/White - it just rolls off your tongue. Don't worry about Mocca - he is still after all only about 21/22, even though he looks a lot older. He will probably not be unhappy with a steadying balance up forward instead of having full responsibility. Win for our side.

Quite possibly the best trading period for Sydney since Dr Eddleston went south with his chequebook. Am very happy with the good work done by the club's recruiters. They have recruited a very good mix of experience and potential. Am really looking forward to seeing how it all comes together in season 2010 - do it for Roosy!. Going to be a really interesting pre season for the first time since the mid 90s almost with so many unknown faces. We still have two first round draft picks
Gone are the days of the Rhys Jones and Bernie Evans
94 we picked up Lockett & Roos.......
Now if only Tige decides to return.......You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby ZieglerComment

and with no Bradshaw who be our top 5 scorers ?
What top 5 players could put together 200 goals to be a top 8 team?
How many goals specifically would each of these top 5 score?
If Bradshaw and Tag play for us in 2010 we should expect fight for 6th spot......any less expectations would be self defeat before starting out !
To have a serious crack, you've got to be a top four team, and the only way you can do that is to get the best draft picks possible, and/or trade astutely - especially with Gold Coast and Team GWS about to turn the draft and trading systems upside down for several years.
Bradshaw is one thing, but Kennelly? He's yesterday's man, with his best days for us long gone. Let's focus on building our next premiership team.Comment

There's just no point in aiming to scrape into the top eight or even the top six all the time. All that will achieve is delay our next serious upswing.

Cheering Squad......
this obsession with a premiership team......there are so many bloody factors to make this happen.....we are talking about giving ourselves a great opportunity to be competitive in 2010
Are you saying you know who will come Top 1,2,3 in that order without doubt in 2010?
........White, Mumford, Vespa, Hannebery, Smith, Johnston, Odwyer, Kennedy etc could amaze us in 2010..........we dont know for sure as they are emerging talent on the rise so far.......but at least we have a team that can move up and forward......it now has multiple options in teh event of injuries......to key positions......we also now have goals which we lost and that is massively significant
i just find that I am happy to have a healthy debate on this issue (so I can be wiser for it) but you constantly side step the opportunity to provide a a real short term and medium term solution......
What else would you have done to ensure we are on the path to being very competitive in 2010 and beyond? If one is not competitive how can you hope to play in a GF?
If one is not maintaining and or building a positive spiral and a vibrant culture........what hope is there ?

Adds to the urban myth of the "No dickheads Policy"..he comes across as a genuinely nice bloke..no Einstein..but he can take a grab.
As for the youngsters being "off-sided" by this signing, I was trying to imagine myself in their shoes. Would I like to be a young inexperienced kid taking on the opposition's best defender every week with other younsters beside me that I was meant to be helping....or would I like to have one experienced good player( not a deadset champion but a good player) without a huge ego h there to help out. I know which one I would opt for.

I just want to thank the recruiters on a fantastic job getting Bradshaw. All fans can look forward to a great season in 2010 with a rejuvenated ruck (Mumford Seaby) a dangerous forward set up (Bradshaw /White) great young midfielders with back up,and a settled back line proven already. I like our New Team very much as it offers experience with raw talented youth. Now we look forward to the draft and number 6 for the icing on the cake.Well done recruiters!!!!
And Cheer, cheer.
Go the Bloods! He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

I was hoping he would come to the Swans.
It would be interesting to know eventually, what it was that made him choose the Swans. Perhaps with Carlton he would have all the pressure to replace Drunkola but with the Swans he fits in with an up and coming forward line and hopefully by year three will be second or third forward to the other two.
I think we are going to be an exciting team next year and Bradshaw will be an ideal mentor for the younger Swans.
Well done Swans Footy Dept.Last edited by Bas; 24 October 2009, 08:19 PM.In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment
