No Richmond will draft Luke Ablett.

        Very good Bas.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

            playfair gets another chance

I think we've seen the best of Ablett, and it was a long time ago.
            fully agree.

i'm sure both Ablett and the swans knew a while ago they were parting ways.

I'm also sure the swans wouldn't even consider playfair if they thought his body was not up to it. So seems he is getting one last shot, maybe even as a mature age rookie (get some games into him in the ressies). Does anyone know if he ever played down back, and if so was he any good. We do need a FP defender after all.

I very much hope (and expect) him, if picked up at all, to be a mature rookie. We've already wasted one draft pick on him 2 years ago.

I was talking to a Saints supporter this week who reckons the mail is they are going to draft him. Maybe that's why he has left and isn't interested in being redrafted.

The fact he is now not training with us is a major relief to many of us RWOers.

Indeed - Bevans only serious competition over the past few years. Bevan has gotten better, Ablett worse. Hopefully a new club will rejuvinate him.

No need, we can just mature age rookie Playfair.

As for Ablett, I would be surprised if he was picked up in the PSD at this point but could possibly join his cousin at the GC17 for the VFL next year and see if he can get a contract for 2011.
