At least the tigers have the excuse that they have a woeful list . Carlton have a whole heap of top ten draft picks as well as Mr Untouchable in Chris Judd.Comment

Though the only reason Richmond doesn't have a whole heap of top ten draft picks is that they've delisted most of themComment

I am just going to throw something in here that may be just be between you me and the gatepost, and perhaps could be on another thread, but I am not all that fussed with Judd's tenure as captain. I just don't think he is all that suited to the job (being polite here). Am I out of order? If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

As to Lizs post , your probably right as they have recruited even worse than carlton and therefore there top ten picks have just fallen by the wayside. Maybe we are finally seeing the proof that bottoming out is not necessarily the panacea to a premiership and no substitute for smart recruiting and development of good club culture.Comment

I was irritated by one particular comment though - can't remember which of them it was from. It came when the cameras were panned onto Bird, which illicited a comment that he was the Swans first truly homegrown player. Quite apart from the fact that Bird is from Nelson Bay, not Sydney, where on earth did this eejit think Bevan, LRT and Jack hail from. Or do they just know / not care? All three (especially Jack) have received a fair few column inches over their careers about the fact they are homegrown Sydney products - not just NSW boys.Comment

I'll take Tim Lane, I'll take Robert Walls, heck I'd even take those biased WA commentators Matthew Campbell and Tim Gossage, just no more of the Monotone please.Comment

Totally agree Satch, it's not what she says, it's how she says it. The actual content of tonights commentary with the delightful Mr Darcy on board was excellent, I just can't stand that monotone, nasal drone.Comment

I think the voice will be less annoying over time as we get used to it. I'd far rather hear her as calls the footy rather than the gab fests from some of other commentary teams.
One thing about last night that I found distracting was the crowd noise that comes through very clearly over the audio. I don't know who it is but the chant to "oh my darling clementine" sounded like it was in the same room.Comment
