Haven't had a chance to watch it that closely, but wasn't he tagging Jack Steven. If so he did a bloody good job.Comment

Yes Mitchell played his role pretty well the other night.
In the eyes of a lot of our supporters he doesn't seem to be able to do anything right now that there's talk of him going. In my opinion he's still been very good this season.Comment

Hard to know what Carlton would do, but I think it would be a good deal from their perspective. They will most likely take small forward Ben Ainsworth with pick 4 with a chance to take KPF Todd Marshall. I think both are fine prospects. But I believe it's a better proposition to get a proven young contested ball winning midfielder and a medium speedy forward. Carlton need lots of players. They will probably let go of at least 10 this year. So 2 walk up starters and a long shot in Hiscox sounds better than 1 good prospect, neither of whom may be better than Mitchell.
I generally like what Towers has done since he's come back into the side, but would drop him this week and bring in Laidler. I don't trust Towers in the high pressure of a finals series. And he just can't nail an open field tackle.Comment

I shouldn't matter what happened the previous week. We should be looking to put the best side on the ground for the next game, as well as planning for the finals. I think we would structure up better against NM and other finals sides with tall forward lines, including Adelaide, Geelong and GWS with Laidler in the side. I'd prefer a quicker player than Laidler if we play Hawthorn. With Tippo coming back and likely to play mostly as a forward as well as having both Buddy and XR as mobile forwards, Towers is likely to get fewer opportunities to make a contribution. When Buddy's presenting as a midfield option, no one is going to Towers.Comment

I'll assume you are taking the piss a bit here.
Why would a team ever consider that? Not just playing with 17, but dragging a player in the last 5 mins?
Either he is taught how to act under that kind of pressure, and picks up more footy smarts, or you trade him.
Can have a player playing under that kind of stigma. The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment
