You're on the money. Unless Geelong and/or Fremantle win by huge margins, the Swans are on top of the ladder after Round 5. They have not been on top this far into the season, (believe it or not), since 1998.

Also, you have to go back to Rounds 9 to 12 in 1996 when you last saw Sydney win four games straight by a margin of 40 or more. On that occasion they beat the Brisbane Bears (by 48 points), Fitzroy (by 70), North Melbourne (by 49), and Footscray (by 46).

        Re: Weagles gameday thread

Come tomorrow we will probably have 6 teams on 4 and 1 with the Dees in the 8 and the Crows without a win...amazing
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

[QUOTE=Yuri H;481126]Braddles had a rough start with a few behinds, but came good. I kind of said in my mind "kick 6, and I'll be able to let go of Hall" ... so good show, Bradshaw./QUOTE]

Ha ha - I wanted him to kick 6 as well. I do think we're a better team without Hall though and the Bulldogs seem to be better with him. A win all round.

I thought LRT was almost the best out there today. Shut up the people behind us who are always knocking him. Kieran Jack was fantastic as well. He is developing into such a good player. We're looking good - bring on the Lions!

Back to today's game, I thought it was a pretty impressive performance. Reg & LRT were both superb and I thought Jack's bump and dish off to White turned the game. Naitanui is going to be an absolute star. My only disappointment was the lack of Josh Kennedy on Josh Kennedy.

Moore was also very good today. Difficult to pick only 3 players for this week's TLM.

Jack's bump was sheer guts. He knew he was gonna clash and he didnt flinch. Awesome stuff.

Our half back line was brilliant all day. Grundy is a star. LRT was rock solid. Bradshaw is a joy to see in our forward line. He can mark the ball, doesnt give away stupid frees or chuck frequent tantrums. Barry who?

I love the way Bradshaw is having FUN.

I spoke to him briefly after the game and said to him that he looks like he's enjoying himself. He said that he's loving being here at Sydney.

I said that we loved having him and that it must be good not playing second fiddle. He laughed; and agreed!!

                  Top bloke.

It was a great team effort overall but I have to single our Mattner, because along with Jack they were the ones to kick start the intensity when the Weagles were trying to fight back. Some of those tackles he did in the 4th quarter to get the frees for holding the ball was awesome 1%.

great game all around, but was it just me or did i see a lot of nick smith's passes miss the target?

Anyone else note the number of green boots worn by the Auskickers yesterday? A couple of fluoro yellows as well, but we counted at least eight pairs of just greens, all brand new.....

Big wraps on Reg, very big wraps on LRT. Not sure why Macca got BOG.....Anyone?
                        Jacko is a quick thinker.
Jesse is not. Looks to be very self conscious about not making a mistake......he will improve because there is natural talent there, he doesn't give away much in the way of frees (not that I noted anyway), in fact our careless frees look to be way down this year, wonder why? and he will improve his timing......
Don't you just love the way the boys "look after" Kirky? Affectionate grandpa like.
                        B raddles is a keeper.
Smiffy got on with his job. He is remarkably unphased when he play, really cool under pressure. Will never be a Big Name, more of a Jude Bolton type who one day people will say, "he's always been good"...
Jude Bolton's goals are not frequent, but they are invariably unexpected and quite sparkly....some of my favourites.
Never thought I would automatically mark down a goal with Marty lining up for one. He did a hell of a job this week, imo.

McVeigh BOG for the QUALITY of his passes into the fifty....absolutely incredible some of them....also got a lot of the ball....moved with it forward and into space well all day.
If I were giving Brownlows I would have gone 3 to Jack, though...I like to give votes for doing something SPECIAL rather than just 30 nice possessions.
2 to Bradshaw and 1 to Goodes
Would like to see MOD or Vez given a run for Kennedy who is doing nothing special and continues with some very iffy disposal....almost ditto Shaw, but at least he has had a man to mind the last couple and done it well.
Assuming Bolton is out then what odds to bring in Pyke as a KP backman?...Ted will be almost no use at all against Brown or Fev (other than running back into the hole) at least Pyke is QUICK and BIG and STRONG.
No Hall, no Ted, no Bevo = only the competition average of stupid, soft frees.

BTW first game I can remember for a long, long time where we were inappropriately well served by the men in yellow.....Le Cras and Kennedy were just murdered.

Flouro green and yellow very popular at the junior rugby this season too. Most kids have brand new boots at the start of the season (the exception tending to be the boys with big brothers). Their feet tend to grow.

FWIW I thought LRT was excellent. I think that is the best game I have ever seen him play.

I agree that LRT was excellent and I think the whole backline deserves credit for their performance so far this season. Not getting the credits they deserve.
