This business of having white or playfair leading to the wings or boundary line to create space for the FF is incomprehensible. Can you imagine Brown doing that for fevola or Reiwoldt for Kozzi, what a joke.

Hilarious! That just about sums it up perfectly though,although kicking a point still ends up being a turnover! What I am confused by is how I have got it so wrong. I see Playfair as a dud,too old,slow,injury prone and with no game presence.Yet he not only gets picked but gets another chance. I see players in the reserves like MOD and Vespa,young,fast, game presence still kicking the ball around the paddock in Canberra.No chance given to them! Why? There are only two possible explanations
1. The selectors are stupid OR
2. There are off field issues or secret injury issues I know nothing about.

Look we can all have opinions on the merits of certain selections. Indeed, Playfair in front of White seems to me, to be a strange choice but we are making those opinions without all the information. The selectors would not only know how White is performing on the field they will also know what his confidence levels are like, wherever his carrying any niggling injuries and also what his attitude around the club is like. Once they weigh all this up it's the selectors opinion that he needs some time in the Reserves. The same goes for players we'd like to see be promoted. Only the selectors would know based on all the information above whether a player is ready for the rigours of senior football.

Playfair last week was also soft - shirking physical contests, missing tackles and easily being pushed out of marking contests. It's an absolute joke if this bloke gets a game over White who should have been played in his preferred position.

Agree that neither Playfair nor Richards are up to AFL standard.Maybe they used to be (Richards once was) but nothing is gained by playing them now and something is lost.What is lost is the opportunity to give players like Vespa,MOD etc valuable game experience. Playfair and Richards will not win us a game,they will not even stop us losing. Vez and MOD just could do both for us but we will never know if we don't play them!
