One bad result against the best team in the comp at a ground they havent lost at forever is not worth perservering with. St Kildas flogging last night was a worse result than ours.

Barlow wasnt good but pretty hard to ask a guy to come in against geelong at geelong and the moment he fails we say hes not up to afl standard. If we were to make a judgment based on that one game then half the team is not up to AFL standard BUT the difference is that we give the other guys the benefit of one bad game against the best team at home (except of course for the proverbial whipping boy Moore - leave him alone). Barlow shouldnt be condemned on that performance alone. He looks to me to be a confidence player and coming in for the odd game as a fill in is never going to get the best out of him.

The coaches will only make changes to allow the likes of McGlynn and Hannerberry back in and maybe rest someone like Jetta.

The weekends game shows just how important LRT is to our setup.Ted is not and has never been a key position defender.

The Sainters did cop a pasting, but for anyone that wants to over analyse results (read: me) you could say it makes our form look not so crash hot. We've lost to St Kilda and Geelong. Carlton have pumped them both lately. We've beaten some average sides and then beat a Lions team on a recent slide (losing at home last weekend). Games/form/match-ups obviously change week to week but we really need to win this weekend to restore some faith in our abilities. Here's hoping last Sunday doesn't just point to an average Season for us. I was leaning towards a top 4-6 finish. We're are sitting in 4th thanks to the Sainters but the 5/6 teams below us all have the ability to finish above us. We need to win on Saturday. We can't afford a little slump in a comp like this.

And if you take the same logic , Saints beat the bulldogs so this weekend should be pretty close and the bulldogs are no more premiership certainties than us.

I agree, it should be close. Dogs just lost to Saints, the were beaten well by the Pies, they touched up Richmond, lost in Brisbane to the Lions after leading and they beat Adelaide well. Very similar in some respects. It's going to be a tough game no doubt. But we already knew that I guess : )

In the paper this morning that Moore's ankle has an injury and some of you might remember as the players were coming off the ground after the Brisbane game, Moore had a big limp happening. I think he went into the Cats game injured and it is now worse.

No way is Mumford's citing going to be upheld, just plain bloody ridiculous charge to start with.

            On that news;

            OUT; Ted, Ed, Moore
            IN; 2Dads, Hanners and McGlynn

Carlton are beating bloody good teams with a small but fast group of players. Doesn't matter how tall you are (unless the ball just gets bombed indiscriminatley) if you're not fast enough to get to the pill first.

Rohan definately stays, Pyke for sure is a bonus in the ruck and Jetta stays and keeps his boots. I can't stand the way that Geelong players think they're the coolest because they wear boring black boots, blah, blah, blah, black boots. I can't wait to see what other colours the Jet has to show us, I love the red ones.

And to continue with that same logic, Collingwood are a shoe in for the flag cause they smashed Carlton.

A lot of outcry over Smith. I feel that his game on Sat was great, yet is still a chance to get dropped.

Roos wants to keep Rohan (which I agree with) and bring in LRT/Hanners/McGlyn, someone has to make way.

We like having 3 talls, so Ted stays. Though this may not be as important against the Dogs.

This leaves Moore, Barlow and one other. Assuming Jetta and Rohan stay (which Roos has hinted and I agree with) then who is the person to go? Smith was last in so first out. Just a theory...

Someone has to fill the space in front of Baz. Teddy, sorry, Vidic is just the man.

All this talk of dropping Smith is madness, shouldn't even be crossing peoples minds.

As I'm sure it isn't crossing Roos' mind either.

Agreed......he just gets on with it, and before you know it a good solid job has been done, ala Benny Mathews but with a bit more jenesequa (I know that is crappy spelling, but I am too lazy to look up the right one).

If they have to drop one, then it may be Ted. He is a player with great heart and courage, but has lost a half yard (eek, I just said that....sorry about the disloyalty Ted, but....), so I would retain Smiffy over Ted (Oh the creepyness of it all)......

Agree to a certain extent, but given we like to play 3 talls and keep the 2 young guys, who would you drop?

Smith should be one of the last dropped. I'd say he'd be in the top 10 for importance to team structure. Reliable in attack and excellent defense on good players. Hard to replace that.
