Nick Smith will be a good midfielder along with Josh Kennedy who gets better every week and deserves more credit for someone who has only played a dozen games or so.
You rate Kennedy? I'm not convinced about him. He looks solid but looks to have a rather suspect kicking style. I'll take him but I'm not sold on him, yet.

Disappointing game but enjoyed the trip down and got to spend some quality time with some fellow RWO's so the day wasn't a total loss. Highlight was the boundary umpire who participated in a bit of banter with our group. It's nice to see some umpires have a sense of humour.

Here are some photos of the day.

You do realise he's a 21 year old, 21 game midfielder who is leading the club for clearances (both total and average, 33 and 4.7 respectively) and picking up 20 disposals per game at 75% efficiency with just 1.7 clangers per game, which if you take away frees against is just 0.8 per game, right?

If we'd drafted Kennedy, we'd all be lauding him as the next Paul Kelly for @@@@'s sake! He's doing amazingly well.

              The margin was 38 points.

              Question: if
              1. Craig Bolton,
              2. Bradshaw,
              3. Mumford,
              4. Seaby,
              5. McGlynn,
              6. Moore,
              7. (and we sometimes forget), Bird

ALL had played, fully fit, (and let's add 56 year old Brad Johnson on the Bullies' side to be fair), what would have been the margin?

We squandered goal opportunities to kick through the big sticks. If all those behinds had been goals, we'd all be happy today.

What's the problem with Ves.Do the selectors know something we don't? We are playing a couple skinny kids who need a lot of gym time to compete.
The match yesterday was CRAPOLA boys.Thank God the Doggies took their foot off the pedal in the last qtr to make our score look a bit more respectable. We can only do what we can with the current available players however.

The worse was Bevan's miss in front at the start of the third quarter. From that terrible miss, (I could have thrown the ball between the big sticks), the Bulldogs then from the backline kicked a goal within 20 seconds. An 11 point turnover. The margin should have been 33 points, (if Bevan kicked this easy shot), but it turned out within seconds to be 44 points.

My day in front of the tv was highlighted by the arrival of the 2yo just before quarter time. That made concentrating on the demolition on tv a little easier to take. We learned the word "kick", and the action as well......

OK, I am not going to read back through 200 posts at this stage, so can anyone tell me - did you guys boo BBB? I did not hear it n the first quarter, and I am very proud of you if you didn't. The crap commentators didn't seem to make a note of it, but I wonder. I was too busy keeping an eye on a chewed apple about to land on my brand new lounge suite to properly concentrate. And I am NOT going to revisit the game.

What's the bet Red Rohan stops putting hsi name up on Roosy's board?
Yes I agree that Jets needs to be 2d for a few weeks.
I have no problem with Pykey in a minor role - ffs (excuse me ladies) he has only played the game of AFL for less than 16 months.......I think he is brilliant within the context.
Kennedy is a keeper - go BSA5! You tell em. The Lurker is doing ok, and will improve.
What on earth would we do at this stage without Jude!
There are a group of players who had been moved back to the 2s, and it is fairly obvious that they were fair calls, but we would have been humiliated without them to back up the team.....yes we are a bit stuffed with depth......but no where near as bad as we have been in the past. And for those calling on TDL, he is not ready yet.....nor is Cuz.....maybe Ves is..but I would be a bit edgy about it.......and those who were called in did what they could with the talent they have, not much spectating here (sorry Cheese, you were not missed).
And I was right about Ray.....he is an *****, but they are running out of senior and even junior umps because we have terrorised them out of the game so what can we do. Bring back Peter Carey!!

Jarrad McVeigh was terriffic, Jude tried hard, Shaw was good in the junk time stuff but made crucial errors at the beginning when we were vaguely competitive, Smith was terriffic there was one centre clearance he made where he displayed the qualities Liz wrote about him whilst he was in the 2's,,Mattner and Tadhg were ok,but I think Tadhg has wrecked his knee again,Goodsey tried hard and had flashes of brilliance.

The first 10 minutes were terrifffic and if we could have kept that up who knows, but it needed 100% effort with 100% extraction of everyone's talentin unfamiliar positions and that is not humanly possible. So even me the ultimate drama queen is quite philisophical about this game. Thank god it's over.

Lets all not hit the PANIC BUTTON YET.

2 weeks ago many on here were wondering how much we will win a Grand Final by.

We simply must beat Freo this week, Im confident we can turn it around.
                          Positives :
Not many yesterday, we were so poor.
Jude and Jarred McVeigh, thats about it.
Daniel Currie, TDL and Vespa must be closer
We had a heap of Quality out.

                          Negatives
Mike Pyke , hopefully 1 more week . Then on ya bike

                          Rhino WTF??
Lewis Jetta : needs a spell now
So it was another bad day in the office, showed up by quality opposition 2 weeks running.
Freo are a good side and we must beat them at the SCG or then we can begin to worry where we are at.

I have only just had a look at the match-day-thread..... Looks like RWO is back to its critical best.

Went to the game yesterday, I'm not going to pick on anybody in particular (apart from some questionable umpiring and the bulldogs supporting Grandma from Sydney who kept sledging my 6yr old with such gems as "our fullback has kicked more goals then your whole team sonny" !!).

Main thing I noticed, White ran his guts out for no apparent gain other than fitness training (he doesn't belong in the ruck... ) the Canuck seemed to spend a lot of time on the bench.
Hannes looks like he has taken that step from kid to "I belong here"
Goodes tried to stamp himself on the game, I have to say I got nostalgic seeing him rucking in some throw in contests right in front of our seats
McVeigh although tagged was very good, as was Kennedy. Kirky went missing, probably to be found in the same "not feeling to flash" place as ROK.
Whatever drives Jude we should DNA sample it and inject it into everybody, although he aint no leading forward option!
Seems that everytime I go to Manuka for a game, Playfair gets a guernsey from out of nowhere.... (Roos/Horse can we please stop that trend!!!)

All in all it was pretty dissappointing, especially following up on last week. The main thing we don't have at the moment is structure, half the blokes are in spots contrary to their primary roles. Seaby, Mummy, Braddy and McGlynn missing makes an amazing difference to the balanced structure that we started with this year.....

BUT... We are playing some very very good teams at the moment who DO HAVE their structures right.

                            Keep going boys...!!!!
