Changes for Essendon (official teams named)

    Unofficially the family reunion round.

For me I would keep the same team, the only question mark might be the weather forecast - rain all week and possibly rain on Sunday. If so, one of the talls - White, Playfair and Pyke might be unluckily forced out.

I don't know that White would be unlucky to go out. He was missing for most of the game, as usual. Playfair was decent enough. I guess it depends on who is available.

I really don't see McGlynn coming in after missing 6 weeks of football.

in Currie - out Pyke. I don't understand why people would wan't Jude out of the team? He plays his heart out every week, puts his body on the line and granted he may have had a quiet couple of weeks, but he was one of our best players in the first 5 or 6 rounds when we were winning games! We owe it to him to let him bounce back and i bet this week will be it!

Mummy by him self had twice as many hit outs as the whole hawthorn team but we still lost the clearances. I love Jude but he is not himself and maybe needs a rest.

I'd like to see Vespa in for Heath; Heath's had a couple of weeks, he hasn't been completely awful by any means but I think that's probably enough for now. I think Rohan's turn down back today suggested that he can hold that spot at the moment if we need someone with a bit of length- he and Patty could alternate in the role depending on matchups?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Moore will come in if he's right.

I think Heath will drop out. Hopefully this will be the week Vesz comes in but I suspect changes will be minimal.

Those would be the two I would think about. Pyke did pretty well today but I think he is still at the stage of learning where full minutes in the ruck and around the ground at lower intensity will aide him develop his skills and understanding of the game. I also think he will struggle next week with the jack-in-the box mobility of Ryder. Currie doesn't have Ryder's leap either but he has ruck footy smarts in spades, and Ryder not being the biggest blioke going around means physically he shouldn't be out of his depth. Would be a real shame if he didn't get at least a few games while Seaby is out.

We lacked a bit of penetration with the kicking coming out of the back half today and Vez will certainly give us that. Not having seen the reserves for a month, I have no idea if Vez is moving more freely than he was last time I saw him. If he isn't, he shouldn't come in, but he does have class.

The "against" these changes is the fact we have had so many in recent weeks, some stability would be good. So I wouldn't be surprised to see no changes.
