Well, as someone pointed out earlier in the thread, they booed their own team at quarter time. Very shabby behaviour imo. And underrates our efforts and abilities. Roos' press conference said he thought Carlton came back at us with determination and we did well to hold our lead.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

There seems fewer comments in todays game thread ?
Is that because everyone is a little stunned at the Swans getting up in an 8 point game - first time that's happened in a while or is everyone still having a quiet celebration ..... which will last well into the night...

Just got a wave at the shops from a Magpie supporter .... They enjoy a Carlton loss almost as much as a collingwood win !!

Great win Swannies. Brickbats however to the ABC commentary team. I have never before been so aware of a commentary which was almost entirely one team focused. I reckon 75% of the commentary was about the Blues, how terribly they were playing, how bad Judd, Gibbs, etc were and below par, the forward line was poor, the backs didn't man up, on and on, Brett Ratten was going to be under intense scrutiny as this talented, star studded team was underperforming and 2 weeks in a row. It was awful. Sure they acknowledged the good play of individual Swans players but so many of their comments about the Swans play was prefaced by, This is what the Swans do ..., This is how the Swans play ... (they obviously hadn't watched the game v Richmond). One, I didn't catch who, condescendingly branded the Swans as a 'workman-like team' and it was as if they just couldn't come to terms with the fact that the Swans were actually belting their precious, talented Carlton side. I'm still gobsmacked at the lack of respect shown the Swans and Swans fans.

The carlton crowd booed their players at both 1/4 time and half time.

Great performance. I thought everyone contributed and it was great to see us attack through the corridor again. This was the hallmark of our early season wins and we look a much better team when we play direct (most do). And surprise, surprise our forward line once again looked potent (as pieced together as it is) when the ball is delivered quickly.

The best sign was the skill level which was generally very good, as you'd hope indoors. It makes you wonder why some of our players struggle so much when exposed to outside elements remains a mystery.

I reckon Mumford could be in some strife.

Terrific win. Admittedly, Carlton didn't really come to the party - but perhaps because we didn't let them?

I'd like to get through a week where Channel 7 can identify our players. Heard Meredith referred to as Jack on more than one occasion. Someone also asked why Leroy Jetta was not playing. Presumably, because he plays for Essendon.

What's Shaw been doing at the back all this time! And great to see Jesse finally stand up and enjoy a good senior game.

Nothing original to say but want to add as others have:

                1. How great is it to watch Ben McGlynn play, so tough, so hard at it, really really great.

                2. Jesse White had a really good game - many good marks, kicked straight for his two goals, chased and positioned well enough. Very encouraging.

I know where you are coming from but having now watched the replay... - Carlton were pretty awful. During the game I was torn....were we playing the game of our lives or were they truly terrible? I think the truth is somewhere in the middle.
On another note, the surface seems to come under a lot of scrutiny but it didn't seem to be the Swans doing too much slipping and sliding.
What is the news on Nick Smith - didn't look great and Etihad claims another hamstring?
Mumford was a bit silly - looked like a bit of a dick actually so hope he doesn't go on with that sort of carryon too much. I'm wondering if whatever is in his sock is messing with his head.
Well done to McViegh to keep playing for was long as he did

At todaty's after match, Roos said Smith would be out for a couple of weeks. The only players to not front were Smith and Bevan. Both injured today. Agreat win! How about some positive Swans talk for the next week. A great atmosphere at the Melbourne after match today. Every player gave their best as usual but obviously won't be enough to please the RWO crowd.

I know I shouldn't take pleasure from bitter comments on some footy forum but the Carlton board on Big Footy is so good tonight!

You haven't heard Dwayne Russell and Liam Pickering call a Swans Geelong game on Fox by any chance. Now that is painful.

Yep, booed their team at 1/4 time, many left at 3/4 time.
Most left before the final siren, and those near the players race, looked to be giving their players lot's of "encouragement" and "advice" for next week, as the left the ground.
