Well, the good news is that the last time we suffered such a loss we won the flag the following year (Port Adelaide, 72 points at AAMI).

Hurry up and open the voting for the TLM Scott. I want to forget about this game in a hurry.

At least Goodes held his recent form up.

Best thing to come out of today is that I did really well getting my post count up.

But on the game, you know you're in trouble when Bevo is one of your better players.

Goodes, McGlynn, Jack, Melcho, Bevo, White, Jetta and Kennedy get pass marks (Goodes a great deal more than that). Everybody else should be ashamed with that performance. Including the umpires.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

Pathetic, don't deserve to be playing in the finals after that display

Well what a shocking game from the swans. one would have thought considering the performance they put in last week v carlton, they would of keep that form going on their run to the finals.

Then again, with that shot that hit the post allowed a goal, it set the tonic for the game. The umpires seems to be in melbourne court and that pretty much wrapped up the game within the first 10 mins.

Lets hope they put a better performance against the Cats next week.

Quite bizarre, wasn't it? I understand that the Melbourne supporters were watching the same game, but is is really appropriate for a professional commentator to join one of the teams playing and for the group of professional commentators to donate money?

I occupied myself during the last quarter by trying to find some fluff in my navel. I failed.

Simply we're not fast enough footy today is all about impact footy and lots of rotations if you're average types like Bevan, Richards etc. or too slow you're redundant

Look I'm not going to pick on anyone in particular, but FFS it has been a long time since I saw the MAJORITY of the team give up and give in. I dont turn off or leave games when we are getting hammered, so why did our blokes today.

Jude, sorry but this was a crap way to celebrate a significant milestone, you have the right to ask what happened.

I dont think anyone should ever hack into Goodsey on this site ever again. McGlynn, Hanners and Jetta..... you did your best. Sorry I will pick on somebody..... McVeigh.... What the hell?????
Everyone else....... you may have just squandered the opportunity to get at least one finals game into the crew.

On a positive... Well Done Dees, you looked fantastic, and unlike some other clubs, I'm not begrudging of your success today!!

                          Bring on Geelong!!!!

to wait all week for that display is bitterly disappointing, what a shame. Umpires didn't help.
I'm curious to know what our win/loss record is for player milestone games is over the last five years? Feel like we tend to lose them.
Our backline really missed lrt and smith.

Players who need to go; Richards, Bevan (even though he tries), Mattner ( stuffs up too often), Shaw needs to play forward or go, Moore is too slow & Kirkie was right to retire the modern game has passed him by (too slow). There were 13 Melbourne players who were as fast as our next fastest after Jetta and that is Dan Hannaberry. Need to bring in a few fast fellas for these games against fast teams, horses for courses. Rohan, O'Dwyer, Reid, Sumner?, Heath?, Thornton? or Vespa. Got to do something against the faster sides cos the lot we played sure can't keep up. The other thing is the experienced players like Kennelly, Richards, Mattner & co panniced at the ferocity and speed of the Melb attack on the body.
